Grace Lucia (pronounced Loochia)

Would I be being pedantic by saying that I like:

Francesca Grace and Lucia Grace? :)

Madallie · 03/02/2014 13:22

No, not at all. I like Lucia Grace but again worry about mis pronunciation and the fact that dd's name ends in -ia too. Might be a bit much.

I suppose it depends in what your other DD is called and if you have any other siblings. For example:

Lucia
Georgia
Michael

Wouldn't be too bad but without the Michael, might seem a bit much if you see what I mean.

I thought Lucia was pronounced Lu-see-ah. I suppose it's one of those people might not know how to pronounce. How about Lucille?

GlitzAndGiggles · 03/02/2014 13:27

I met a girl who pronounced it as 'Loo-sha' like St Lucia and she was always correcting people

laregina · 03/02/2014 13:32

Francesca Grace would be a lovely name.

As a first name Grace is a bit too popular IMO. As is Amelia.

tammytoby · 03/02/2014 14:43

"How can you name your baby before you've seen/met her?"

Do you really think babies 'look' like a specific combination of letters?!

To me all babies look fairly similar Grin.

poorincashrichinlove · 03/02/2014 15:40

tammy yes, because language is clearly just a combination of letters without meaning Confused

Oriunda · 03/02/2014 15:47

Amelia Grace, despite being v popular, is the nicest.

Grace Lucia (pron. as loochia) is nice too. Lucia means light and I don't think anyone would connect it remotely with lochia (different pronunciation for one).

MarvellousMechanicalMouseOrgan · 03/02/2014 15:47

I love Grace as a first name.

Grace Miranda
Grace Polly
Grace Clementine
Grace Louisa
Grace Eloise
Grace Helena

LizLemongrass · 03/02/2014 15:48

Amelia means no limbs I think

Mrsindecision · 03/02/2014 16:16

I'm not a huge fan of Grace, but I like all the other names on your list. I personally know many more Francescas than any of the other names. I wouldn't choose Lucia as a first name despite thinking that it is very pretty because the pronunciation issue would drive me crazy so I would go with either Amelia or Francesca as a first name. Good luck with your decision. Smile

barebranches · 03/02/2014 16:37

peter Andre has just named his baby Amelia... if you're bothered by that.

Mrsindecision · 03/02/2014 17:01

I don't think Peter Andre is likely to have any affect on the popularity of the name either way - such a non-entity IMO!
Massive improvement on his chosen names with K Price I have to say though! Grin

Mrsindecision · 03/02/2014 17:12

Following your post barebranches I just googled "P Andre baby" and was pleasantly surprised by the names he and his partner had in the mix - Elizabeth, Alexandra, Rose, Isabella... (as well as Amelia obviously). All refreshingly classic and normal for the "celebrity" set IMO!

LizLemongrass · 03/02/2014 17:13

i wouldn't worry about that. 11 years ago in jan i walked out of the hospital with my baby and everybody else in there seemed to have called their baby either Amelia or Emily. I am not criticising. My own child's name is of its time too I guess, it never became as popular but I feel it's 'over' Grin in a would-one-choose-it-now kind of way

Honeydukes · 05/02/2014 13:46

How about; Grace Elizabeth, I think it rolls nicely of the tongue, also I don't think Grace is that popular I only know of 2.

Hawknotdove · 05/02/2014 18:24

I prefer Grace. I'm not sure it flows brilliantly with either of your mn options, but if they have meaning for you (eg are family names) then I don't think that really matters!

GingerMaman · 05/02/2014 18:27
