Yes. Some one I know has a dd called this.... Amelia

More emphasis on Emil, like Emil and the detectives, rather than Amelia.

As GirlsonFilm says, there is a slight difference in the sound - the "Em" to sound like the beginning of Emily. Both names do sound very similar though.

Well although it's a tiny difference in pronunciation the difference in spelling means we aren't "copying" my cousins daughter who is Amelia. So Woop happy days our baby has a name!! And Emmy is a really cute nn :)
