We have loved Claudia forever but Henrietta would honour recently-deceased family member. DH thinks we should stick with our first choice, I'm just fishing for opinions. Thank you Smile

Why not use it as a mn - Claudia Henrietta sounds nice.

tammytoby · 02/02/2014 07:25

Henrietta is lovely and much nicer than Claudia!

ThisIsYourSong · 02/02/2014 07:26

I think Claudia is much nicer

CruCru · 02/02/2014 07:32

I like Claudia.

rubyslippers · 02/02/2014 07:42

Claudia is a beautiful name

Monkeyandanimal · 02/02/2014 07:44

I love claudia, it was on our recent list for DD but didn't suit her when we saw her. Classic, beautiful, won't date, will stay moderately popular but never common. Henrietta is going to be popular, i just have a feeling......no facts to support this, but it has the same vibe as beatrice and esme imo. nice name, but a lot of people are thinking the same thing.

DottyboutDots · 02/02/2014 08:32

Henrietta

Sundaedelight · 02/02/2014 12:28

Henrietta.

Loads of Claudias here. Plus a prettier sound. Great scope for nn too, should you desire.

Alisvolatpropiis · 02/02/2014 12:48

Claudia with Henrietta as a middle name?

GlitzAndGiggles · 02/02/2014 12:59

Defo Claudia imo

MauriceMinor · 02/02/2014 13:15

SundaDelight, may I ask where you are?

s/West London. Honestly, lots of little Claudias and bigger ones, has been growing quietly.

HeatherCatherine82 · 02/02/2014 22:57

I know a beautiful Claudia, but Henrietta is lovely :) I like both! If you name her Henrietta then she could have Hettie as a nickname, which is super cute imo.

Claudia Henrietta is also cute though!

Best of luck xx

mumbaisapphirebluespruce · 02/02/2014 23:08

Claudia, but I'm biased! Claudia Henrietta works well though.

MauriceMinor · 09/02/2014 04:32

Thanks for your thoughts. I think Henrietta has been moved to a middle name option now. I don't actually like it tbh, find it hard to hear beyond Henry. Just adore Claudia.

Henrietta - don't want to offend but to me it sounds faintly ridiculous. Like Agatha or Winnifred or something. Mind you, nowadays there are probably lots of parents who think those are lovely too. It's a bit of a mouthful as well - though the nickname Hetty would be OK.

It gives the impression of a male name - Henry - made feminine in a clumsy sort of way. Although I do realise that's not logical as it has been around for at least 200 years or so!

Claudia is lovely.

TheBookThief · 09/02/2014 07:02

I think you have to go with your gut & if 1 name sings to you & the other you are trying to like then you need to stick to your guns & put Henrietta second.
They are both lovely for different reasons.

ItIsAnIdeasGame · 09/02/2014 08:43

Both names are a female version of a male name. Claude and Henry.

For me, Henrietta just sounds a little posher. I like Hen or Hetty very much, or Claude as NN.
