Would you put your parents name as a middle name ?

I don't see why not. We are having our two grandpa's names as middle names as the have both recently passed away.

My father's mn is also my brother's and my son's mn. DS first name is a derivative of FIL's. Just a nice way of honouring family.

Yup, my dd1s middle name is my Mum's name & my other two daughters have my grannys & my husband's granny name as a middle name. It's pretty standard where I am.

I wouldn't, I was always taught that you should only name after the dead, not the living, but I think that's due to Jewish roots!

I would...I like the thought of passing names through the family. I gave my daughter the same middle name as me. If I have a son I've considered maybe putting richard ;my dads name) as the middle name

We picked a random middle name that we both liked, but it's used so rarely and for only special occasions, that I wish we'd chosen something more meaningful such as a grandparents' or family name.
