Alice or Aurelia

Which would you choose? I'm just asking for one or the other.

I can handle people not liking one or indeed both. Do your worst ladies.

Ahhh I love them both!
I'd probably go for Alice.

curiousgeorgie · 21/01/2014 23:56

Aurelia. Alice is a little boring...

Alisvolatpropiis · 22/01/2014 00:00

I do think Aurelia is just the right side of different. And given it's similarity to Olivia I suspect it will hit the big time soon.

I've loved the name for such a long time though.

I wouldn't spell Alice the English way if I were to use it. Not sure why I typed Alice when in reality, it would be Alys.

I like Alice

PsammeadPaintedTheLion · 22/01/2014 11:21

Both nice, Aurelia pips it for me.

Rhubarbgarden · 22/01/2014 14:36

Aurelia.

Oriunda · 22/01/2014 14:44

Aurelia. DS would have been called this if he'd turned out to be a girl (once DH had discarded my first choices of Persephone and Ophelia!).

aoife24 · 22/01/2014 15:13

Alice. It classic and lovely. Aurelia is too frilly for my tastes.

DramaAlpaca · 22/01/2014 15:21

Do I have to choose? I love both Aurelia & Alys.

It looks like you have a slight preference for Aurelia because you've loved it for so long, so go with that and keep Alys for another DD

newyearhere · 22/01/2014 19:19

Aurelia

Cinderelephant · 22/01/2014 22:19

Aurelia, just beautiful.

Vajazzler · 22/01/2014 22:33

Aurelia for me. Beautiful name. Love Actually has a character called that and I loved her scenes with Colin Firth

gloriafloria · 22/01/2014 22:35

Alice

poppydaisy · 22/01/2014 22:35

Aurelia

bunnymother · 22/01/2014 22:38

Aurelia. It means "golden" and is unusual and sounds lovely when spoken.

PastaandCheese · 22/01/2014 22:46

I think they are both beautiful but I would choose Alice.

WhispersOfWickedness · 22/01/2014 22:51

Aurelia is beautiful Smile

Vijac · 22/01/2014 23:04

Aurelia first, or Alice is lovely. Not Alyss.

Alisvolatpropiis · 22/01/2014 23:13

It's Alys Vijac, which would be the spelling I'd use, I've no idea why I wrote Alice!

I love Aurelia but people will pronounce it a million different ways. How would you be pronouncing it? I like Alice too but it's a bit too popular for me.

BuntyPenfold · 23/01/2014 09:31

Alys is lovely.

Aboyandabunny · 23/01/2014 12:22

Both are lovely. I have liked Aurelia since studying Latin at secondary. Aurelia was a little girl in the textbooks.

Rightojo · 23/01/2014 12:24

Alice, classic, simple, longevity.

Snowflakepie · 23/01/2014 12:38

Alys will always be misspelt as Alice by those who haven't seen it written down. If that bothers you, stay clear. Aurelia will also get misspelt too though! If you've loved it for a long time go with your heart on it.

I know one adult Aurelia. She's a class A cow, but don't let that spoil it. Lots of Alice's, of all ages.
