What do you think? Too American? Too X-Filey?

I know it's not a popular name at all and I've never met one in real life, but I love it.

I used to love Dana pronounced how you're saying it when I was younger as I knew a little girl with the Bratz dolls and there was a Dana doll but that was in my 90210 phase but I think with the right MN and surname it would be fine :) If you like the letters more than the pronunciation there is always Diana.

I like it - reminds me of Dana Scully and Dana from According to Jim. Pretty name and unusual.

Don't American's say Dar-ner?

An American I knew had sisters called "Darner" and "Deeanne" but I think they were spelled Dana an Diane.

It is quite American but not in the same way say, Randy is.

Perfectly workable in the UK, people may be inclined to say Dahna (as in Dana International) initially. Easily corrected though.

Americans say Day-na. It's a unisex name there.

I like it, but would pronounce it Dar-na (as I have known one pronounced that way). But if you don't mind correcting people then go for it. I have known it short for Daniella too, if you like that option.

I'd prefer Daina if that's the pronunciation you want. I've not come across that before (and I live in the US now!) and I like it.
