Thoughts? A Marmite name I think! Would you pronounce it Alfrida or Elfrida? Or Ail-Frida?

I'd pronounce it Elfrida - I knew one one who would now be in her 80s called that, and I've always liked it.

Ayle-Freeda for me. I quite like it but it's a heck of a name to carry and I don't like Frida/Freda as a shortening. Elly would work though.

PatriciaHolm · 14/01/2014 22:37

Elfrida. And I would have an image of a hulking great Viking woman in my head!

gruffalosfriend · 14/01/2014 22:45

Elfrida. I like it. Elfie as nickname?

Thank you everyone. Smile I love it (pron Ayl-freeda) with Elfie as a nn but sparkling is right, it is a heck of a name! I'm fairly convinced DH will use his veto power on this one. Grin

Gorgeous!

I LOVE it.

What an awesome name.

Like Elfie as a nickname when little, like Frida as a potential nn when older.

Like Aelfrida as a totally brilliant name for a woman.

DO IT! :o

squoosh · 15/01/2014 16:44

I too picture a big hulk of a woman. A great big, angry faced hulk.

squoosh · 15/01/2014 16:45

With very thick ankles.

PlumpPartridge · 15/01/2014 16:47

I have a DS with a VERY similar name, but I'm not sure about it for a girl! It calls up images of either an airy-fairy hippy chick or an extremely corporate woman trying desperately to escape the name baggage.

Maybe a middle name?!

JoinYourPlayfellows · 15/01/2014 17:01

:o at Hulky Aelfrida!

DessieLou · 15/01/2014 21:13

First name - Hulky
Middle name - Aelfrida
Sorted! Grin
