ooh I love wilfred and ivo! I also really like caleb but we cant use it. thats the trouble when you already have kids you know so many children!!

I have to say we did "settle" for DC3's name, and I'm still not convinced about it. I call him by an unrelated nickname (we do this with all our DC but I use the others' actual names too) and only use it to refer to him.
Everyone else is cool with it, including the rest of the family, and there really wasn't anything else.

We sort of settled for DS2 as well, I suppose, but it's absolutely his name now.

yes it's just that - the 'settling'. there are loads of names I love, but ideally would discount cos of way it sounds with surname, family middle name we want to use, its the name of someone we know well, sounds weird with sibling names etc. do you ignore those things and pick a name you love on its own, or pick a name that ticks the boxes but doesnt 'wow' you.
