A sibling for Gabriel and Arabella

we are expecting a surprise dc in the summer . we have a large extended family so many names we like are no longer available . we also have older dcs who each have 2 middle names .I don't want to out myself by naming them .

we both like Winifred but i'm really not sure it goes with Arabella .
i like Priscilla but think it might be too similar to dd's name.

for girls we seem to have a thing about witch names as Tabitha , Samantha , Theodora and Sabrina have all been mentioned along with Winifred .

Hester and Esther our lovely but it rhymes with the first syllable of our surname .
for boys Raphael is nice but Gabriel and Raphael but worry may be a bit twee
after watching chitty chitty bang bang DH has also mentioned Caratacus and i think he's serious.

any ideas both male and female gratefully received

Julian or Juliet (though you don't mention whether DC3 is actually due in July).

Lawrence or Laurence.

Marina/Serena/Carina.

oldbutnotpastit · 22/01/2014 22:20

yes due in July and Juliet is lovely but dd3 has Juliet as a mn so we can't use it

this baby will be ds5 or dd6 .the other children children each have 2 mns
we also have 19 nieces and nephews , so their are alot of names we can't use.

Tabitha is lovely and I think it goes well with your other childrens' names.

For a boy, Raphael is nice but maybe a little similar to Gabriel. As it's your fifth son, how about Quentin, derived from the latin 'fifth'?

oldbutnotpastit · 22/01/2014 22:39

tabitha is lovely. it's dd3 first name

Right, out there (but beautiful) girls' names I was banned from using which might work.

Trinity
Liberty
Guinevere
Iseult
Artemis
Serenity

I would try to avoid another 'a' ending.

And lucky you having a DH who's actually even MORE adventurous!!

Jonas
Milo

ImperialBlether · 26/01/2014 08:18

Is this your 11th child?

Alisvolatpropiis · 26/01/2014 11:23

I was going to suggest Jasper but considering your elder DS's name, maybe not.

T U D O R and Jasper is a bit too history nerd. Though I might just think that because I am a history nerd Grin

Alisvolatpropiis · 26/01/2014 11:24

old

Romilly is a park in South Wales and a pub and a few road names.

Jemimapuddlemuck · 26/01/2014 11:56

Wow have just worked out how many DCs you have! I take my hat off to you. Congratulations on your surprise!

oldbutnotpastit · 26/01/2014 12:25

stinking really like trinity it was on our shortlist for dd1 but we decided against it . also love Serenity it was on my shortlist for dd5 but dh vetoed it.i also really like Gunevere but no my dh will veto it .
jemima i love the name Jemima but we have a niece with the name so can't use it . Clarissa is on our short list .
Alis really like Jasper and Edmund and actually really like the Tudor linkage . I'm a bit of history nerd . I think only someone really into history would get the link . weirdly dd4 was nearly Jasper when he arrive he looked like Jasper carrot but it didn't last so we went for Gabriel instead.
imperial 10th child we have 5 dds and 4 dss already .
dh has alredy vetoed Lawrence and Harriet .
today the name Trevelyan popped into my head and i quite like it .
