Saffron or Athena?

My top two keep changing! One feels too grown up the other I worry is not grown up enough!

What would you expect the parents of a Saffron and a (non-Greek) Athena to be like?

Saffron is lovely. Athena just makes me think of the eighties poster shop so it feels dated to me.

I absolutely love Saffron, it's so pretty and unique Smile I really like Athena as well but out of the two I think Saffron wins it

baskingseals · 13/01/2014 20:32

Sorry to say but I do like both. Do prefer Athene though.

Alisvolatpropiis · 13/01/2014 20:33

Athena. Definitely.

thenightsky · 13/01/2014 20:34

Saffron, but probably because i know a Saffron who has a huge personality and is an absolutely adorable 7 year old Grin

Anthena is a poster/picture shop for the 70s.

Twinsplusonesurprise · 13/01/2014 20:48

Hmm. Saffron from Ab Fab.
Would it get shortened to Saffy? Not sure I like that.

notundermyfoof · 13/01/2014 21:03

I begged dh to let me name our dd Athena but he wouldn't budge! Sad its such a pretty feminine name without being too frilly imo.

I really like Saffron too but would choose Athena out of the 2. Both are unusual but not too out there or pretentious.

curiousgeorgie · 17/01/2014 18:06

Love Athena... It was that or my current DD2's name and I went the other way.

I could never use it even if I had a DD3 because it rhymes with the name we did choose Wink

Do it! I'll be jealous Smile

Only1scoop · 17/01/2014 18:11

Both names Lovely. My Greek friend is called Athena. We pronounce it A...th...na. No theeee bit.

ChristineDaae · 17/01/2014 18:44

I think they are both very different names, not ones I would expect to find on the same persons list if you know what I mean.
I do love Saffron though. It's on my list

hawkmcqueen · 17/01/2014 19:34

Saffron, I love that name. And Saffie :-)
