Should I be lucky my little girl will be Margaret Emily, for lady they her and ms Pankhurst, agile for short! Doe this count as poncey?

It's not a poncey name, but I don't think many people on here are going to congratulate you for naming your daughter after Thatcher!

Ohhh... I quite liked Margaret Thatcher. Not sure about the name Margaret though.... lots of other lovely names.... Mariette? Juliette? Emily is perfect on it's own. Actually the more I say Margaret, the more OK it sounds. Ignore me!

I quite like Margaret, people know how to say and spell it, not overused either at the moment. Same sentiments regarding Emily.

TravellingToad · 11/01/2014 23:06

I think a name with meaning is lovely :)

Oh, and I meant to say that Aggie might make people think she is Agatha rather than Margaret. Do you not like Maggie? It really doesn't matter though, a nickname should be able to be anything!

Britishseamonkey · 12/01/2014 09:32

Sorry I think Margaret Thatcher was an abomination.
I like it as a name though. Maggie and Aggie both nice nn.

Mrs Pankhurst was actually Emmeline - nn Emily.
Often confused with Emily Davidson who threw herself under a horse
There were also Sylvia and an christabel Pankhurst - daughters of E Pankhurst and co-founders of the movement

Most people come on here and say they want to use Margaret but are worried others will associate Thatcher!

Either way, I like Margaret and Emily together. Not keen on Aggie though, it would have to be Maggie for me.
