Names to go with Arthur

RosesOnTheWane · 10/01/2014 19:43

We have two boys, Henry and Arthur and are having another baby in August. Don't know the sex.

Looking for a name. Had previously thought of Daisy for a girl but now maybe a bit popular. I have no idea for a boy.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Do you like Hugo? I think it goes well with you other names.

newyearhere · 10/01/2014 19:51

Henry and Arthur make me think "historical" and "royal".

William, Charles, Edward, James, John, Frederick, George

Elizabeth, Grace, Jane, Alice, Zara, Victoria, Charlotte

I do like Hugo! DH has vetoed though and I have a nephew with a very similar name.

Keep going though!

Lorry

Thank you!
Boys: William is a possibility ( nn Billy?) , D has said no to George which was high on our list last time but because of prince G he is now no t keen. John and Charles already in close family! Hadn't thought of Frederick though so might try it on DH.

Girls: LOVE Grace, Charlotte and Elizabeth I also love but already family children. Can't use Alice because I always think of that song (Alice, Alice, who the etc....)
Is Grace too popular???

Violet was under consideration for quite a while - maybe needs another look!
Edward (nn Ted) I quite like, but not Eddie ( makes me hear Clarrie) .

Sorry, I am hard to please..

Quite like Stanley, but maybe it would sound like I was taking an old folks home outing? Is that a bad thing?

Both Arthurs I know have a sibling called Stanley. So maybe not that.

Jeremy, Giles, Rupert, Rufus?

Grace is a lovely name and I rarely meet one.

TeWiSavesTheDay · 10/01/2014 20:03

Ha, xpost. I do think Stanley is quite an old name for a baby, they always seem to grow into it though.

RosesOnTheWane · 10/01/2014 20:03

Thanks again, loads of ideas here.

Leo is quite nice. Also Florence and Polly. Molly too.

MrsCampbellBlack · 10/01/2014 20:13

OMG are you me? I have 2 boys called Henry and Arthur and then had a girl who we called Beatrice.

I liked Laurence for a boy or Albert. Love Florence too.

MrsCampbellBlack · 10/01/2014 20:14

I also liked Viola and Cora for girls names.

RosesOnTheWane · 10/01/2014 20:16

Ha ha Mrs C. One of my closest friends has a daughter called Beatrice so it's off the table, otherwise it would definitely be in the top 3!

Yes and yours Roses - you have such good taste Wink

DessieLou · 10/01/2014 20:41

I know 2 Gracies but no Grace. Think it's more popular as a middle name. I like Florence & Polly. Felicity? Maria? Marianne? Marlena (Marlaina)? Boys....Fergus, Nicholas, Philip, James? James gets my vote!

Ihatepeas · 10/01/2014 20:50

I know a Henry and Arthur with brother Frederick (Freddie)

Thesimplethings · 10/01/2014 20:53

vicky217 · 10/01/2014 20:58
