I am expecting DC3 - early days but I thought I'd get the name obsessing in early this time! Already have Elsa and Arthur...

I agree that you need to retain the 19C theme!

Violet, Lily, Maud?

Flowerface · 07/01/2014 10:15

I secretly love Maud but it seems quite divisive!

I love lucy. Also nancy.

Bonsoir · 07/01/2014 10:19

I think it's super pretty and unusual. It also goes really well with Elsa and Arthur! I think you need to avoid a second girl's name ending in -a.

Flowerface · 07/01/2014 10:27

I think I agree about the 'a', also I would rather avoid one beginning with a vowel.

I like Nancy too but one of DD's best friends is a Nancy!

Polly is lovely.

Flowerface · 07/01/2014 12:19

Is Polly short for something (Margaret?)?

TooTryHard · 07/01/2014 12:30

Mary I think?

newyearhere · 07/01/2014 14:16

I vote for Clara.

I like Lucy but there's too much l and s with Elsa.

I don't really like Polly.

NadiaWadia · 07/01/2014 15:38

Clara is lovely. Polly and Lucy are nice but a bit cutesy (esp. Polly).

NadiaWadia · 07/01/2014 15:40

Like Maud too, and it's more unusual than Clara. But be aware that not everyone will like it.

Riprap63 · 07/01/2014 16:13

Clara

whattimeisitanyway · 07/01/2014 18:14

I love Maude too but I mentioned my love for it to friends before and they all made faces so I think it is a v marmite name.

I like all of your suggested names.

Otherwise, maybe:
Adeline, Agnes, Alice, Charlotte, Beatrix, Emmeline, Primrose, Rosalind

DitsyDonkey · 07/01/2014 18:23

Polly

pilates · 07/01/2014 18:29

Clara and Lucy are very nice
Dislike Polly.

Flowerface · 07/01/2014 18:40

I do like Charlotte, nn Lottie, as well.

I don't think I am brave enough for Maud but I do like it...

Lucy!
Elsa, Arthur and Lucy sound nice. Lucy is a good child or grown up name.
Clara sounds clumpy to me, and is getting v popular for some reason. I don't think it is viewed as nicely in other parts of Europe. Polly makes me think kitchen maid, where as Lucy probably had tea and cakes in lace gloves. Also she will love the Narnia books!

Saharap2 · 08/01/2014 21:16

Lucy

HyvaPaiva · 08/01/2014 21:19

Clara

Clawdy · 08/01/2014 22:46

Polly. Think Lucy is pretty but rather dated.

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 09/01/2014 17:47

Clara. I love it.

Maud is awful, sorry...

sarahquilt · 09/01/2014 17:54

Polly is nice.

Ham69 · 09/01/2014 18:49

I love all 3 though would avoid another 'a' ending and know several Lucy's of all ages (though not too many). So my vote would be for Polly. Lovely!

KatherinaMinola · 09/01/2014 18:53

Love Clara, but Polly or Lucy go better with your other DC's names. As does Maud - I love Maud! I'd probably go for Polly or Maud.

KatherinaMinola · 09/01/2014 18:55

I have known two adult Mauds, by the way (thirtysomethings). Both were dignified academics, and both wore the name very well.
