Frontdoorstep · 06/01/2014 16:17

Its nice and sensible, everyone knows how to spell it and pronounce it. I like it, a lot.

Dull. Its short for Sarah which is dullsville.

Also. aunt Sally.

atthestrokeoftwelve · 06/01/2014 16:29

Whichever name you choose you will get mixed reactions.
Choose a name that you like and don't worry what other people think.

stinkingbishop · 06/01/2014 16:35

I love Sally! Never met an un-lovely one.

Polly's good too.

Charotte31 · 06/01/2014 16:37

Old fashioned and just not nice! Sorry

squoosh · 06/01/2014 17:33

Well I quite like it, it's retro without being one of the usual retro suspects.

It makes me think of 1950's Americana.

Frikadellen · 06/01/2014 17:36

I don't mind it but I think of it like Jane and Anne..

SS3J · 06/01/2014 17:37

I think it's cute. Obviously won't be to everyone's taste, but if you like it then go for it. It is no more boring than Polly, Molly, Holly etc which are all quite in at the moment. So I don't think it will sound dated.

BunnyLebowski · 06/01/2014 17:38

Really dull and boring.

DuchessofKirkcaldy · 06/01/2014 17:42

I like it.
I named my favourite doll Sally as a child. Smile

eatyourveg · 06/01/2014 18:03

sally was the name I gave to my first car

willyoulistentome · 06/01/2014 18:08

I like. ... but then it is the name of my favourite ...aunt.

She is lovely so it has a good vibe for me.

Flukewoman · 06/01/2014 18:11

I know an 18 year old Sally who is a lovely girl and actually extremely beautiful, which has coloured my thinking a bit - I like it!

somewhereinessex · 06/01/2014 18:15

I know a "Sali" - she's welsh. I think it's a nice name and better than Molly. I had a rag doll called Sally - her rag doll brother was Jake.

Ragwort · 06/01/2014 18:21

Lovely name, not too common these days which is nice.

sarahquilt · 06/01/2014 18:53

I like it.

FlatsInDagenham · 06/01/2014 20:05

It's nice.

And whoever said Sarah was dullsville - Angry

Alisvolatpropiis · 06/01/2014 20:18

Mustang Sally is the first thing that comes to mind.

It's a very 70's name.

Tibby2 · 06/01/2014 20:45

Dull sorry

DawnOfTheDee · 06/01/2014 20:48

I never thought of it as dull. I think it's really nice and not as 'cutesy' as a lot of names ending in '-y'.

I think it's quite cool.

TheFarSide · 06/01/2014 20:51

It's great - really unusual these days. I can't remember the last time I came across a Sally.

somedizzywhore1804 · 06/01/2014 20:53

To say the opposite of the poster above, I never met a Sally I liked. Sorry OP!

Starballbunny · 06/01/2014 20:54

My DDs have an aunt Sally
