Middle name for Margot

We love this name - and plan on 'presenting' the name with Maggie as a nickname. But any ideas for middle name? Our firstborn has Violet so we had previously thought of Rose for this baby but I'm not sure it flows well with Margot.

Margot May?
Margot Mary?

Margot Rose is gorgeous!

Geckos48 · 05/01/2014 12:42

Ann

TheFantasticFixit · 05/01/2014 12:44

Oo good to know my hormonal instincts are wildly off. Our surname is like that of a well known, bagless cyclonic vacuum cleaner Wink.. Reckon it could still work?

Gecko my mum just suggested Ann. I'm not totally sold, but what about Margot Annie?

Geckos48 · 05/01/2014 12:54

Not such a fan of Annie for a middle name.

HomeHypno · 05/01/2014 14:23

Staying on flowers Margot Daisy, Margot Primrose or Margot Dahlia?

IHeartKingThistle · 05/01/2014 14:36

Margot is fab. I like Margot Mary.

I love Annie (I have one!) but I think Margot Annie might not work as the names sort of run into each other iyswim.

TheFantasticFixit · 05/01/2014 15:21

Hmm. Yes I do know what you mean.. Margot Mary is high on my list - as is Margot Rose. I think because of the hard 'g' i keep thinking it needs something more 'girly' as a middle?

Margot and daisy are both derived from Margaret if that bothers you/ floats your boat.

rueyrichardson · 05/01/2014 16:28

Margaret (Margot) Mary is very high on our list too!

Rosencrantz · 05/01/2014 21:01

Margot Ivy?
Margot primrose?

cheminotte · 05/01/2014 21:04

Iris?

TheFantasticFixit · 05/01/2014 22:42

I like Margot Ivy, and Margot Iris! Both very pretty suggestions!

DollarDollarBills · 05/01/2014 22:56

Margot Violet?

Queeniethecorgi · 05/01/2014 23:11

Margot iris I love

tethersend · 05/01/2014 23:14

I like Margot too.

If you're planning n Maggie as a NN, avoid May as a middle name unless you are a huge Rod Stewart fan Grin

Margot Pearl?

We have a Maggie Ann Smile

I like Rose best with your surname

TheFantasticFixit · 05/01/2014 23:22

Ah! Yes Tethers, good point!

I actually LOVE Margot Violet but I can't give both girls the same middle name. I'm swaying back to Margot Rose as well.

Argh, so many choices for my poor pea sized baby brain!

TheFantasticFixit · 05/01/2014 23:22

Footle - no! Indeed, probably not

Margot Grace
Margot Demelza
Margot Camilla
Margot Tabitha
Margot Rosemary/ Rose-Marie
Margot Lavender
Margot Beatrice
Margot Danielle
Margot Fenella
Margot Griselda
Margot Jasmine
Margot Lily

Suggestions, floral and otherwise, above.

I like Rose , but prefer Lily, or Lilias, or Lilian, ie more than one syllable.

LittleMissRedSparklyBaubles · 05/01/2014 23:33

I like Margot Rose, but I also really like the name Mary - it was my gran's name and one of my sister's middle names - and am glad to see it seems to be having a bit of a comeback.

MargotIris · 05/01/2014 23:36

Right I've been sitting on my hands for long enough.

Margot is a shocking choice. Far too many people have been using it.

Coupled with Iris is a step too far.....

They'll be everywhere soon.

We do get a lot of compliments on the combo to be fair :D.

Good luck - you have fab taste ;). I love Margot Rose.

Margot comes from pearl so maybe not that though.

TheFantasticFixit · 06/01/2014 00:51

Ooooo! MargotIris! A real one! I love your name - Is it yours, or your DD etc?

OP posts:
TheFantasticFixit · 06/01/2014 00:53

Ancient - thank you for your fab list. Actually when discussing the name earlier my DH felt that it needed o be more than one syllable as well - I really like Margot Tabitha from your list, it's gorgeous. I don't think DH likes Tabitha though but SURELY as I'm doing the 'work' I can reserve power of veto? Wink
