Same name as second cousin

Weird family situation, I don't see my cousins all that often then can go through periods of seeing them non stop.
First cousin had 4th child in August. I just found out they used the boy name we've picked. I only found out by chance and likely won't meet this child until first birthday if even then.

So should we use the name or change to something else? I'm due in 15 days, no other boy names short listed.

Don't think it matters, to be honest

I'm gonna do exactly the same thing soon! Really don't worry about it, go ahead with the name you've chosen! The only people I would think twice about would be my siblings' or best friends' children, but even then I may still have stayed with the same name. Kids end up with different nicknames or can do if you choose the same name as someone else. Stick with it! All the best.

My de has the same name as one of my cousins. Mind you I only found out a couple of years ago, my cousinbis 16 I didn't even know that uncle had a son let alone his name!

It doesn't matter. There's a popular name in our extended family, a nice one, and no one minds.

DH and I both have cousins with the same name as our DS. Nobody batted an eyelid. Just use it.
