Hi, so I am not sure if we need a boys or girls name and have plenty of time to pick but what do you think of..,

Boys: Harry, Charlie, Finley, Hayden.
Girls: Sophia, Annalynne, Lila, Elin.

TIA xxx

I like strong names usually that end in n I like your Erin I like shorter names that can't be shortened.

sonlypuppyfat · 01/01/2014 15:57

Sorry Elin.

Rosencrantz · 01/01/2014 15:57

Annalynne is dreadful and redneck sounding.

Everything else is fine.

BunnyLebowski · 01/01/2014 15:57

Lila is really lovely.

That's about the only positive comment I can offer you Grin.

bridgetsmum · 01/01/2014 15:59

Harry and Charlie are ok. Finlay and Hayden, hate them

Annalynne is awful, Elin is ok but prefer Erin. Lila not sure

bridgetsmum · 01/01/2014 15:59

Missed Sophia, I love that name Smile

Hassled · 01/01/2014 16:02

Harry, Charlie, Sophia are nice.

Timetoask · 01/01/2014 16:02

I like Finley, I don't like any of the others (Harry and Charlie are over used, and Hayden is awful).
Girls, my favourite from your list is Sophia but I wouldn't use it, everyone seems to be using it these days. Instead of Elin, could you use Erin (which is really nice). Lila is ok.

MrsApplepants · 01/01/2014 16:05

Don't like Hayden, Annalynne is awful, sorry!

The others are ok, but a bit too overused apart from Elin.

invicta · 01/01/2014 16:10

Annalynne is awful. Like the rest.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 01/01/2014 16:12

Harry and Charlie fine as nns. Sophia isn't a name I'm fond of, but it is much better than the others. Annalynne is dreadful.

invicta · 01/01/2014 16:12

Elin is Welsh - I know a 17 year old Erin.

Have you considered Annaliese, rather than Annalynne.

Trooperslane · 01/01/2014 16:12

Know lovely a Finley and equally lovely Hayden.

Names are all lovely but it's a no from me for Annalynn Grin

Bakerof3pudsxx · 01/01/2014 16:13

Lila is lovely it was on my list

Juno77 · 01/01/2014 16:13

Harry - boring and overused
Charlie - nice but again, overused
Finley - I wouldn't spell it like that, and again overused!
Hayden - Chavvy
Sophia - fine, bit boring
Annalynne - awful. Very Chavvy
Lila - very nice
Elin - nice but often sounds like Erin with a lisp

SoupDragon · 01/01/2014 16:15

The only one I hate is Annalynne.
Elin could sound like you've misspelt Ellen.

Islenka · 01/01/2014 16:15

Sophia, Lila and Elin are very pretty. My Dniece is called Elín, so I love Elin a lot. However, I prefer Erin.

Sophia is fairly popular (for good reason!) if you wanted to avoid that, although all my DC's names are in the top 20s, so don't listen to me! I think it also holds good nickname potential with Sophie, as Sophie is much stronger sounding, whereas Sophia is a more elegant sounding name, giving leeway for their personality.

Lila is short but strong and pretty and is my favourite from the list!

Annalynne sounds a bit made up although I've met one before. Maybe hyphenated Anna-Lynne, or a name like Annaliese would be easier, for spelling and because it sounds less exhaustive.

For the boys:I love Harry, very popular, strong sounding but can fit a variety of personalities. I would go for a longer name though- Harold, Harrison, Harris etc;? Simply as it could be better for them in adulthood. Although that is my personal opinion, and I love Harry loads on it's own.

Charlie is very sweet. I love it. My favourite of the list.

Finley. It sounds handsome. I love it too, but prefer Finnian/Finn.

Hayden. I really don't like the sound of it. I like Kayden/Kaiden/Caiden/Cayden though.

Mabelandrose · 01/01/2014 16:17

I love Elin.

TheMuppetsSing · 01/01/2014 16:18

On seeing it typed/written down, Annalynne is setting her up for being called Anal-Lynne - bad, bad, bad plan!

HyvaPaiva · 01/01/2014 16:19

Since you asked for thoughts, well, mine are pretty negative I'm afraid. Sorry OP!

Elin is ok.
The rest are awful.

Blondebrunette1 · 01/01/2014 16:40

Sophia is my fave, I am concerned about Harry & Charlie being too popular (but my other children have top 20 names saying that.) I liked Annalynne as I've only ever known 1 and it seemed a softer version of Annaleise (which I do like but not for a baby.) I did like Annabelle but that nice lady that screamed and whined on I'm a celeb put me off completely. Elin I like but believe its pronounced ee-Lin whereas I like el-in (correct if I'm wrong.) I like Finnian actually so thanks for that suggestion. I hate labelling names as chavy (although I can understand with some) but Hayden is old English I believe and the only one ive met was 50 and not at all chavy so guess that association doesn't put me off. Does anyone else agree a child can change your perception of a name instantly for the better? My friend named her child a name I hated and I now love it as he's so perfect and suited to his name.

I like Finlay spelt this way. Harry amd Charlie are ok, but I would go for Henry and Charles as their full names.
I like Sophia and Lila.
