Without a longer name on birth cert...?

Just Monty with a middle name?

I know one. Do not know how popular the name is. I like the name.

DoesntLeftoverTurkeySoupDragOn · 31/12/2013 09:39

It's a great name for a cat.

ZenNudist · 31/12/2013 09:41

No

UriGeller · 31/12/2013 09:43

I like it but everyone will just assume its a nickname for Montgomery.

Which is a great name in itself, why don't you want 'Montgomery' (or Montmorency, or Montague) as his first name? You could always just use Monty.

Pointeshoes · 31/12/2013 09:49

Have a rabbit called Monty. Also new of a dog with the same name.
But I did once meet a Monty child. So I think go for it if you love the name.

FigEater · 31/12/2013 09:49

Monty Python
Cute name but sounds like a diminutive

Grumblelion · 31/12/2013 10:15

Sorry, it's the name of my sister's cat & that's all I can think of when I hear it!

koTinkaBell · 31/12/2013 10:56

Mr burns, Monty python, if you don't mind the hassle, go for it.

Fartnado · 31/12/2013 10:58

I like it!

OhCaptainDarling · 31/12/2013 13:01

Rooble · 31/12/2013 13:03

My DS is vg friends with one who is lovely, so I have a very soft spot for the name

Mikkii · 31/12/2013 13:03

I have Valentino / Tino
Gabriela /Ela

aliciaflorrick · 31/12/2013 13:04

My fog is called Monty, he's beautiful but very thick.

aliciaflorrick · 31/12/2013 13:04

Dog not fog.

JollySantersSelectionBox · 31/12/2013 13:05

I like it.

koTinkaBell · 31/12/2013 13:05

do I know you Alicia?

aliciaflorrick · 31/12/2013 13:11

I don't know KO do you know me? I have a dog called Monty and am often heard commenting on his beauty and yet complete and utter lack of brain cells. So maybe.

koTinkaBell · 31/12/2013 13:14

Grin sounds like the Monty we know too, probably not though. we're in the north west.

EBearhug · 31/12/2013 14:36

I know one, and he is just Monty, not Montgomery or anything. I can't say I'm keen on it, though obviously I've never told the parents that. I'm not too keen on his siblings' names, either, come to that. In fact, Monty's probably the best of them. But it was his parents' choice, and it's not really anything to do with me, so what I think is irrelevant.

Charotte31 · 31/12/2013 14:39

I love it!

PipkinsPal · 31/12/2013 14:40

I know of a few dogs called Monty. It seems to be the popular name for Labradors these days.

somedizzywhore1804 · 31/12/2013 14:41

"He's a biscuit crunching, sausage munching, wheeling-dealing, custard stealing, Monty the Dog!" GrinGrinGrin

Sorry but this is what it makes me think of!

tiddleypompom · 31/12/2013 14:47

Withnail & I.

'Monty, you terrible cunt!' (quote)

Great name, love it.

Kaekae · 01/01/2014 22:35

I love the name Monty. Couldn't care less about whether people have called their dog it. My parents have a dog called Ben. [comfused].

Kaekae · 01/01/2014 22:36

Bloody ipad. Confused
