How do you pronounce it? Co-see-ma or Co-zee-ma or something else entirely? I just want to know if there would be pronunciation issues or if there is a general consensus on how it is pronounced.

I'd pronounce it cos-i-ma with a lower case i sound.

I wouldn't have a clue how to pronounce it - even after this thread, I'm still not sure! I think you'd have major pronunciation issues, especially in a working-class area - I've never even heard of it.

Stress on the first syllable- Cos -i-ma
And I think it's a bit more of a z than s sound. But definitely stress on first syllable. I've never heard it pronounced 'Coseema'

So it's more like COSS-im-a? That's lovely. Much nicer than coz-EE-ma, which is how I always assumed it was pronounced, and always reminded me of some sort of skin condition!

Really like it pronounced that way

I have a Cosima (nn Mimi). It's pronounced Coz-i-ma which the emphasis on the first syllable. But often people pronounce it Coz-EE-ma... V irritating!! ;)

Lovely name though, and not too popular. The year my dd was born (2009) there were only 19 Cosimas registered in the uk...
