Hi all,

Please could you help us narrow down our girls list...we still have a few weeks, but I'm finding it very difficult already! Honest opinions most welcome! :)

Aimee
Alyssa
Amelia
Chelsea
Emily
Emma
Erin
Imogen
Keira
Paige
Peyton
Reese

DH also said this morning that he likes Olivia, and when I mentioned Alice he said that one was nice too. So my list seems to be getting longer, not shorter!

Many thanks for any feedback! :)

Reese is a mis-spelling of Rhys. It is also a brand of cheap chocolate in North America; the kind the EU would ban from using the title chocolate due to lack of actual chocolate in comparison to vegetable oil etc.

bugoven · 27/12/2013 03:33

I love Emma and Alice. Top of my girls' names list =)

TheZeeTeam · 27/12/2013 03:36

Payton is very unpopular on here. That said, the 17 yo Payton I know is literally the coolest, funniest and kindest girl I've ever met. She is a friend of Ds1 and rocks her name.

So, I choose Payton!

TheZeeTeam · 27/12/2013 03:39

Btw, re spelling. Isn't Peyton the masculine spelling? Peyton Manning?!

NadiaWadia · 27/12/2013 05:17

Emily and Imogen are lovely.

Reese is awful - for a girl.

JuniorMint · 27/12/2013 10:13

Erin and Alice are top of my short list!

moominleigh94 · 27/12/2013 11:01

Aimee - Not keen.
Alyssa - Like it.
Amelia - Not my style.
Chelsea - Not overly keen.
Paige - It's ok. .
Emily - Don't like it very much.
Emma - Cute.
Erin - Love this one! It's pretty
Imogen - Love it! Wish OH agreed with me on this one Grin
Keira - It's ok. Doesn't jump out at me.
Peyton - It's quite nice. I like American names though.
Reese - I actually quite like it but you'd always get "witherspoon?" questions.

Best piece of advice I ever heard when naming girls was to pick a name that suits both a small girl and the woman that girl could grow up to be. Anything too cutesy will sound really silly on a 21 year old trying to be taken seriously in a professional career. Not keen on Aimee/Amy for that reason - a bit of a 'young' name, doesn't sit so well on an adult.

Also not keen on Peyton/Reese - sound a bit naff. (Sorry)

Hate Chelsea (but this is because I used to be a teacher and one of the vilest classroom bullies I ever taught was a Chelsea - has really negative associations for me.)

Alice is lovely - really pretty and classy
Emma and Olivia also nice.

Tibby2 · 29/12/2013 21:03

Emily or olivia

Lainybug23 · 11/01/2014 12:32

Erin is beautiful

twinklestar2 · 11/01/2014 12:42

I like Alyssa and then Erin.

What about Alicia?

sazzle30 · 11/01/2014 15:02

I love the name Olivia. If a friend hadn't recently used this name for her little girl I would have used it for ours. It's so beautiful.

Good luck deciding. It's such a big decision isn't it! x

Britishseamonkey · 12/01/2014 09:54

Amelia Olivia and Emily all very popular names at the moment. Doesn't have to be a bad thing per say but might help to rule them out when your list is so long. Erin also gaining popularity

From you list I like Aimée ( of you use it please use the accent!!! Its s french n'aime so do it the french Way lol!) doesn't sound americam to me - amie is American IMO

Also like Emma and Keira

Don't like Payton or Reece at all sorry

Imogen nice but don't like the nns Imo or Immy

miffybun73 · 12/01/2014 10:20

I really like Emily, Emma, Alice and Olivia. Emily is my favourite (DD's name)

Erin, Amelia and Imogen are quite nice too.

I'm really not keen on:

Alyssa
Chelsea
Keira
Paige
Peyton
Reese

DuchessofKirkcaldy · 12/01/2014 10:22

Sammie101 · 12/01/2014 22:47

Alice, Imogen, emily or Emma. Not really keen on any of the others tbh

Vijac · 12/01/2014 22:54

Amelia, Emma and Imogen are my favourites. Plus Amy, if spelt the regular way. Also like Olivia. Chelsea is awful, as is Paige IMO.

MummyBeerest · 12/01/2014 23:02
