Hi, we can't decide between the names Megan and Emma. Can anyone help with their views on which they think is nicer and why?! Thank you.

Megan is lovely. The Megan in our family is affectionately referred to as Meg, Meglet, Egglet and Nutmeg Grin

HaleyDunphy · 17/12/2013 10:51

(I think it's nice because Megan doesn't have any labels attached to it iyswim - She's not going to be a certain way, she could be anyone. I'm not even sure that makes sense but I know what I mean!)

Mrsindecision · 17/12/2013 10:57

I personally prefer Emma.

NoComet · 17/12/2013 11:08

I like both, I have a real soft spot for Megan because of the two quite different and lovely teen Megs at school.

ToffeeJungle · 17/12/2013 11:22

Love Megan but just don't like Meg (unfortunately - otherwise I would use it!)
Emma is lovely too.
You can't lose with either!

Theonlyoneiknow · 17/12/2013 11:29

Both great names. DD was going to be Megan right until the last minute.

hawkmcqueen · 17/12/2013 12:25

I prefer Emma as I think it's more simple and elegant. I don't find Megan pretty.

minipie · 17/12/2013 12:26

I like both but I think Emma is more unusual at the moment (despite being more of a classic name at least in England) so I'd probably pick Emma.

squoosh · 17/12/2013 12:29

Emma.

Megan is ok but a bit 90s.

OnABabyDiet · 17/12/2013 12:46

I think Emma is underrated, classic and beautiful.
I am neutral towards Megan - I don't dislike it, but it doesn't jump out at me as anything special.

JazzAnnNonMouse · 17/12/2013 13:11

Much prefer Emma.

Emma is timeless and a classic, Megan feels quite 80s/90s to me.

AndWhenYouGetThere · 17/12/2013 13:48

Emma

LC2014 · 21/12/2013 21:05

My preference is Emma.

Sparrowlegs248 · 21/12/2013 21:23

Emma - is lovely. I like Megan but feel its a bit dated.

GW297 · 21/12/2013 21:25

Both nice. I like Megan best.

tiamariaxxx · 21/12/2013 21:26

Always loved the name Emma but was so poular when i was at school back in the day so no loads of Emmas did put me off a bit, we considered Emma-Leigh when i was having my first child.

SS3J · 21/12/2013 22:23

Emma, but they are both good names. I have just been put off Megan recently because of coming across some annoying little ones!
