Middle name for lotty?

KLou1105 · 13/12/2013 09:07

We had decided on lotty Mae for a girl but Mae seems to be becoming so popular as a middle name now so want something a bit different.
Other contenders atm are Lotty Florence and Lotty Phillipa, I also love Lotty Primrose but DH is not keen.

Lots of suggestions wanted please :-) x

Amber is the first name that comes to mind when I say the first name. For me Primrose, Florence and Phillipa are a bit long.

Er - you know it's Lottie, and not Lotty, don't you (and also that it's not a name it's a nn).

That aside, I love Lottie. How about
Charlotte (Lottie) Elizabeth
Charlotte (Lottie) Helen
Charlotte (Lottie) Frances

Lotty's a valid spelling too (though less common in UK) but I'd definitely agree with using Charlotte for the whole thing, it gives your DD much more choice.

My best friend has a Lottie - she's Charlotte on her BC, but has only ever been called Lottie.

Her middle name is Rose.

We have a Charlotte (Lottie) Rose!! DP chose the middle name as 'it sound just right' BUT it wasnt until later we realised he had seen a boat in the harbour called the charlotte rose!! Bit of a giggle but she has only ever been Lottie(unless she is really naughty!) Grin

heidihole · 15/12/2013 18:07

Do you mean Lottie? As in Charlotte?

Surely you don't mean Lotty? Can you imagine a 40 year old solicitor called Lotty?

BananaHammocks · 15/12/2013 18:54

I'm not a fan of cutesy names/nicknames but I can imagine a 40 year old solicitor called Lotty because when this Lotty is 40 there will be thousands and thousands of 40 year old's called Alfie, Archie, Artie, Bertie, Bobby, Billy, Ruby, Rosie, Lily, Poppy, Tilly, Milly Molly, Polly, Maisie etc so it will be fairly normal!

Ilovekittyelise · 15/12/2013 19:07

please consider the given name charlotte & use of lotty/lottie as nnl. shes not going to be a little girl forever and whilst she may choose to be known as lottie throughout life, she may wish to use charlotte in her professional life.

NoComet · 15/12/2013 19:18

Lottie please, my dyslexic brain has real trouble with Lotty (tries to read it as lolly or lorry, sorry)

If you are wedded to Mae it has to be Charlotte otherwise it's just too cute. My DD1 has my NN as a MN and it would be very cutsy if she was called Ellie or Mandy.

NoComet · 15/12/2013 19:21

Should add the Lottie (Charlotte) I know is the nicest, feisty, plays hard and works hard teen you could ever wish to meet and a real character.

She's absolutely Lottie, Charlotte is far too dull.

Middleagedmotheroftwo · 15/12/2013 19:37

Be prepared for potty Lotty, spotty Lotty etc.
strangely, none of those spring to mind when I visualise a Lottie.

JimmieBimmie · 16/12/2013 14:10

Lotty Ann

Lotty Katherine

Lotty Jane
