Just wondering what others think? I love it with Freddie as a NN, DP hates it though.

Sorry. Don't like it. My father has it as it's a family name but has used his middle name all his life.

MrsHelsBels74 · 10/12/2013 14:27

I love it, but I have a 3yo Frederick (usually known as Freddie). It was my grandad's name & he was my hero growing up so it's sentimental too.

CarryOnDancing · 10/12/2013 14:31

I love Frederick but Freddie feels popular and take some of the charm away for me. It's a perfectly nice, useable name though!

BobaFettTheHalls · 10/12/2013 14:35

I love it but I can't pronounce it (stupid lisp turns it into Fwedwick).

Rooners · 10/12/2013 15:03

It's lovely - we have used it as a middle name, it's a family name here too.

Smile
Rooners · 10/12/2013 15:04

spelled Frederic here

KLou1105 · 10/12/2013 15:33

Not keen in Frederick but what about Maverick?

MoFoe1 · 10/12/2013 15:35

I like it Grin

scrummy2b · 10/12/2013 16:27

I love it. It's my favourite boys name. Freddie's gorgeous, especially when they're little. It also works brilliantly for one adult Freddie I know. The other has been Fred since he was a teenager.

Ilovekittyelise · 10/12/2013 17:02

my brother is frederick; freddie wont last much past the age of 8, by which time he will feel its babyish and become fred. so decide whether you like fred its inevitable.

PandaNot · 10/12/2013 17:08

I know one who gets called Fred, never Freddie. He's really lovely but it's one of the names I just don't like, I'm not sure why.

pinkgirlythoughts · 10/12/2013 17:28

I have a Frederick, it's family name in both of our families. We use a mixture of Freddie and Frederick day to day. DH wasn't keen either, until after DS was born, when he decided it suited him well, so it might just be a case of waiting it out a while for you!

MiracleOntheM4 · 10/12/2013 17:29

Love it!

eatyourveg · 10/12/2013 17:34

I know one who is a Fred. The only Freddie I know is an Alfred not Frederick.

Impomea · 10/12/2013 17:35

Freddie after the brilliant Mr Mercury what could be better Grin

HenriettaMaria · 10/12/2013 17:39

I like Frederick.

Mainly, I think, because of Captain Wentworth in my favourite Jane Austen novel, Persuasion.

DontLetTheMugglesGetYouDown · 10/12/2013 18:20

Haha Impomea that's part of why I want it! Queen are my most favourite band!

I love it, think I'm going to have to push for it though!

Frederick is my brother's name. He has always been called Freddy though.

Impomea · 10/12/2013 20:11

Hi Dont -I wasn't allowed to call either of my 2 DS Freddie so the dog had it instead Smile

Mutteroo · 11/12/2013 02:05

Superb name which I hope one of my DC will use. It's a name which holds lots of memories & one I couldn't use with my DS & I now live in hope for the future generation.

Bue · 11/12/2013 12:10

It's my favourite name. The only thing holding me back is Freddie - it's a great name but it so popular that it's been slightly ruined for me. Also I am not keen on Fred. So I waver on whether I would actually use it, despite loving it one thousand times more than any other boys' name!

NomDeClavier · 11/12/2013 12:15

I love it and know one nn Rick but it's DH's deceased brother so we can't use it.

sonlypuppyfat · 11/12/2013 12:18

Don't like old man names sorry, and not keen on any names that end in ie after a certain age.

ilovespinach · 13/12/2013 21:34

Love it! I have a Frederick known as Fred hardly ever Freddie.

ZingChoirsOfAngels · 13/12/2013 22:16
