It reminds me of Jarvis Cocker, which is obv awesome.

But also of Rob Newman's pervy smoking jacket-wearing character, which would put me off.

I also used to have a hamster called Jarvis.

At one time I wouldn't have liked it but I know one who is now two and I really like it.
I think that's the thing to remember when picking an uncommon name-people will soon switch their associations and view it positively, even if they weren't keen at first.

I know of someone with a baby jarvis! Some days I think it's lovely.. Other times I don't like it!

DD is at school with a boy called Jarvis. I haven't actually met him but I immediately assumed he was cool with a name like that.

Now, much as I love the Pulp link, I know about 4 cocker spaniels called Jarvis & that's all I can think of now.

It is a nice name though!

The only one I know is a cocker spaniel. Or lots of people where it's their surname.
