I'll just point out that I'm not actually pregnant. My Dh and I have some very different ideas on names. We struggled for ages to choose our children's names.
I always wondered 'what if 'about the names I really wanted. DH never liked any of them.
So , I'm asking for yays or nays and general opinions if I may?.

The names:
Loveday
Athena
Indira (slightly unsure on spelling)
Thank you Smile

I prefer Althea!

VerySmallSqueak · 29/11/2013 18:43

I like Indira.

My preference would be Indra though.

Leeds2 · 29/11/2013 19:30

Indira.

milkingmachine1 · 29/11/2013 19:34

I know a little girl called Althea. It's unusual, I hadn't heard of it before. I find your list a bit too unusual.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 29/11/2013 20:37

Dislike all of them, sorry.

moominleigh94 · 01/12/2013 09:47

Not keen on any of them... I know there's long historical connections with Loveday, but it seems a little hippie-ish - it's just two words stuck together, made up etc. Athena is the name of OH's family's dog. Indira... isn't there an Indira Gandhi? I prefer India I think.

I like Loveday - it brings to mind a little moppet, with long blonde hair in ringlets, dancing through the meadows.

OneMoreThenNoMore · 01/12/2013 13:59

None of them are my cup of tea, sorry. India would be quite nice though...

Are you ttc or is this purely hypothetical? My dh and I hardly agreed on any names at all until we actually met our dc, and then they didn't look like the names we had in mind! Confused But in the event we came up with names that we both loved within a couple of hours of the births. So don't worry if you can't agree on names at first! Smile

sonlypuppyfat · 01/12/2013 14:08

Loveday?? Oh that's made my day that has.

NadiaWadia · 01/12/2013 14:30

Loveday is an actual name, that has been in use at least 200 years, sonly. It's unusual, but not a modern invention. It's quite nice, I think.

But Athena is my favourite of your choices, OP. The only negative is, wasn't there a company of that name that produced well-known posters? Still, if people can call their daughters Mercedes or Apple, why should that matter? Smile

sonlypuppyfat · 01/12/2013 15:21

Real actual names can still be funny.

NadiaWadia · 01/12/2013 17:22

There are names a lot funnier than that!

lljkk · 01/12/2013 17:33

I don't like them. Athena is okay at a push. India is nice.

Not keen on any of them.

cakegoblin · 03/12/2013 11:33

I really, really love Athena. Glamorous and European. Not keen on Loveday, just sounds made up/too much like Lovejoy - ugh. Just my opinion though.

TheRaniOfYawn · 03/12/2013 11:49

Athena and Loveday were both on my baby name long list, so I like them.

squeak2392 · 03/12/2013 15:05

I like them all. However, Indira screams Indian girl to me, and Loveday definitely seems a bit out there.
I used to think Athena was too much as well, but I think it can work now.

sandfrog · 04/12/2013 10:05

I like Indira.
