Sister for Grace and Rupert

Hello

Have name changed for this.

My and DH can't think of a girls name we like, it feels impossible. The closest we have got is Phoebe but we aren't sure it's the one and DH hates the character in Friends which isn't helping.

We were absolutely certain on a Grace and no other name was discussed.

Boys names we liked were Oliver and Finn but we went with Rupert.

We prefer short names and like quite classical names. Our surname is one syllable and starts with the letter T.

I'm not keen on Olivia, Sophia, Emily, Daisy, Isla which have all been suggested (nothing wrong with them, just not for me). We just can't think of any name we like. I don't dislike Skye but DH says too hippy. He likes Holly but I'm really not keen, too seasonal and a friends DD is called Holly.

Please help!

I agree with Everlong, Chloe with Rupert just doesn't work IMHO.

Struggling with a suggestion for you. Something only the lines of a Emma, Alexandra or Lucy would be a better fit.

Along the lines {doh}

Clementine?

Josephine/Josie
Vanessa/Ness

Think Rose and Tilly both go beautifully? Don't worry too much about cats and friends' children!

NameMyGirl · 28/11/2013 22:21

Yes Rupert is called Ru a lot of the time!

Surname isn't Tam Smile I'd be so tempted to go with River then! Surname rhymes with mate. Don't type it though, I don't want Google to throw up this thread as it has my name, DD and DS's names!

You can see why I don't think Tilly goes!

I'm a bit off Chloe now, I would like a classical name and now you've got it in my head that Chloe is dated. I'm easily swayed.

I have a Grace. Her little sister is Polly. Not to everyone's taste but we love it!

Going to bed for now. Will mull over things in the morning. Thought we had found it with Chloe but not sure now.

Alice keeps coming up and is lovely but we have a few friends with that name and it would be weird to call our child that (DH's boss is an Alice too).

No why poncetastic? I don't see Rupert and Grace as poncy? Sad they don't go to private school, we do okay but aren't terribly posh or well off!

Not Tam? Awww, there go my sci-fi hopes Grin

In that case, how about something classic, like Margaret or Patricia?

You don't need pontastic.

You just need a classic name, as are Rupert and Grace.

GColdtimer · 28/11/2013 22:36

They are not at all poncy, don't worry.
