Enfys

I was watching Pointless the other day and there was a girl with the name Enfys [she pronounced it Envis] which apparently means Rainbow in Welsh.To me it was too like 'envious' or 'envies' but I did think that the Rainbow idea was lovely.I think Iris has a similar meaning-does anyone know of anymore 'rainbow' names?

Rainbow?! Also I think Irissa, Yris, Irsia. If you Google names meaning Rainbow a few come up, although unfortunately most of them not very pretty imo! Shame. Iris is lovely.

We saw that show and DD (6) decided she wanted to be called Rainbow

I know her! She's lovely and I love the name Enfys too, although I didn't know it meant rainbow til I watched the show!

My son wants to call any future sisters Enfys, he is in a Welsh nursery and that was their topic this term :) It has grown on me as a result.
