Hugo or Roman?

I love Hugo, and I LOVE Hugs as a NN for a baby/toddler ... But I HATE Hugh (sorry to anyone I might offend) and I know that parents don't have much control over nicknames once children get to school

Is Roman the safer option? Maybe Romy as a NN?

As a wild card, thoughts on Ezra?

Any similar suggestions?

Both Hugo and Roman are really lovely. I know children named both and they don't get shortened.

Not keen on Ezra.

I also like Milo, Bruno, Jonas, Matthias...

I like your suggestions Bonsoir, but I have Matt and Miles as brothers' names! Otherwise Milo would definitely be in my top 3

DH liked Hugh.

We agreed baby would been called Hugo, and DH could use Hugh if he liked (bleugh!).

When baby was born, Hugo just didn't suit him!

Roman is OK...Ezra is a bit old man sitting on a veranda with a banjo, but I like it.
