Still In the process of TTC and still pondering over potential baby names. Came across the name Amarys in a baby book the other day and thought it was quite sweet. Any opinions? Thanks x

I've taught an Amaris. I think it's a lovely name.

FurryDogMother · 11/11/2013 21:10

I love it!

Love it.
And I've not heard it before.

TheNunsOfGavarone · 11/11/2013 21:16

I have never heard the name Amarys. I think it's pretty and prefer the Y spelling.

MummyBeerest · 11/11/2013 21:16

Beautiful name. Only ever met one and she loved her name (she's 5).

Sounds like an aftershave big no no for me!!

SpottedDickandCustard · 11/11/2013 21:19

It look lovely, how do you pronounce it?

NoAddedSuga · 11/11/2013 21:19

No!

soontobeslendergirl · 11/11/2013 21:22

I know one and have suggested it on here several times :o

It is a biblical name I think, in the family that I know with an Amarys, all the other children have biblical names too.

the pronunciation they used was Amah-riss

Lucaslovesfelicity · 11/11/2013 21:51

Overall quite positive then :-) I too would pronounce it Amah-riss. Possible contender for us I think. Thanks for everyone's response

It's lovely Smile

AnnaNimitty · 13/11/2013 09:19

Sounds too similar to AMOROUS....

moobaloo · 13/11/2013 10:51

I like it! There's also the similar flower name Amaryllis?

sandfrog · 13/11/2013 18:53

Hadn't thought of "amorous" but I think AnnaNimitty is right, it's too similar.

Damaris?
