HeirToTheIronThrone · 12/11/2013 15:52

Hilary. MIL was Karen, stepmum Val(erie).
Next generation up - Eva and Patricia (one my middle name, the other is earmarked for future DD no matter how ruddy popular it's become. You can guess which :))

Grandmothers - Ada Gertrude and Mary
Aunt - Thelma

ephemeralfairy · 13/11/2013 14:35

Felicity. She HATES it. Grandma was Evelyn, which I like in a weird way. Next cool baby name maybe??

ephemeralfairy · 13/11/2013 14:37

Other grandma was Ivy. Also oddly cool!

Mama1980 · 13/11/2013 14:38

Mums name Sharon, (which she loathes!)
Grandmothers: Ivy and Doris (thought she never went by that she was always dolly)

BeigeBuffet · 13/11/2013 15:49

Evelyn is one of my favorite names. I want a name though that won't date and I was hoping to find names that seemed timeless, so not only lovely in our grandmothers generation but also in our mothers. However, maybe some of the names may not be ready for a resurgence just yet!

Elaine.

LondonMother · 13/11/2013 15:52

Ann. Her sister was Sylvia. Sylvia was a departure. Most of the women in my family on both sides had the names Annie/Ann, Lizzie/Lysbeth (Elizabeth on birth certificate) or Margaret/Margie.

We have a couple of Euphemias in the family too, known as Effie for short in one case and Phemie in the other.

LondonMother · 13/11/2013 15:53

MIL was Joan.
