It's a distant family name. I love it for a girl. Dh isn't so keen. All opinions welcome.

Love it

Annunziata · 09/11/2013 21:18

As in vino novello? Hmm

It's a no from me.

meditrina · 09/11/2013 21:19

It's not gramatically feminine - you'd need Novella for a girl. Which is fine if you have a literary bent.

PeppiNephrine · 09/11/2013 21:22

as in Ivor?
agree with gramatically masculine and bloody awful

BlackholesAndRevelations · 09/11/2013 21:34

Yup- Ivor Novello, or short novel (novella).

Raddy · 09/11/2013 21:35

As in Ivor?

It's not the prettiest of names.

BeigeBuffet · 09/11/2013 21:36

Oh no! I loved it because its a strong name and the Novello in my family was a strong and feisty woman.

No. It is not nice.

scottishmummy · 09/11/2013 21:54

No,too contrived

Bluestocking · 09/11/2013 21:55

Absolutely dreadful. You could use it as a second or third name if you want to honour your relative, but it would be an unforgiveable first name.

BeigeBuffet · 09/11/2013 22:03

Ok point taken. It's suitably off the list. Thanks for your honesty, back to square 1.

I quite like it... but for a boy, not a girl.

notso · 09/11/2013 22:36

Err take the vello off and your left with my answer!

Marli1980 · 10/11/2013 15:03

Nice for a boy
