It's a distant family name. I love it for a girl. Dh isn't so keen. All opinions welcome.

It's not gramatically feminine - you'd need Novella for a girl. Which is fine if you have a literary bent.

Oh no! I loved it because its a strong name and the Novello in my family was a strong and feisty woman.

Absolutely dreadful. You could use it as a second or third name if you want to honour your relative, but it would be an unforgiveable first name.
