My total favourite is:

  1. Willa Francoise ( Middle name non negotiable as family name)

DH likes Paloma Francoise
Flora Francoise

He doesn't like Willa but sure I can persuade him! What's your fav please ?I could compromise and call her Paloma but Lola for short.

Thanks in advance!

Of the 3 names I prefer Paloma Francoise

I'm afraid I don't like Willa at all.

Can you find a name you both like rather than having to compromise? If baby is not born yet, why not wait and see what she looks like!

How about
Cleo
Etta
Milla
Lila
Belle
Aurelia
Margo
Greta
Anya
Clara
Nyree
Nola

I don't like paloma or flora, but I do like willa and lola.
Maybe wait and decide once she's here? Hopefully then one would stick out more than the other!

Good luck :)

Hyperhelpmum · 09/11/2013 18:20

Thank you! It's fine not to like our name choices, we can't all like the same, but she will be one of these. Just wanted to know preferences! 50/50 at moment!

I like Paloma and am not keen on Willa. Just my opinion though!

Confitdecanard · 09/11/2013 18:30

I quite like both Willa and Paloma but I think Paloma is slightly better.

OnesieTwosie · 09/11/2013 18:54

Spotted, the OP didn't ask for a load of random suggestions with three days to go! Grin

OnesieTwosie · 09/11/2013 18:56

Of your options, I prefer Flora. It's a little clunky with Francoise but you rarely say the full name out loud so that doesn't matter.

Good luck.

BlackholesAndRevelations · 09/11/2013 18:56

I really like flora, personally think it's the best of your three (if you can avoid the margarine connotations, which I can, but my DP can't Sad )

Hyperhelpmum · 09/11/2013 19:09

Thanks onesietwosie! I don't need alternatives you are right! It's taken us 9 months and a lot of rows to get this far! I honestly have had sleepless nights over it! Not sure why as named our other DC so easily! Thanks all! Think we will have to see her before final decision but it seems Willa not that popular (someone once pointed out it was like Willow in a London accent!)

Flora
Fora
Flora

I love that name.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 09/11/2013 19:14

Don't like Willa at all. Not overfond of Paloma. I like Flora but wouldn't use it with Francoise tbh.

lchats · 09/11/2013 19:15

I love willa! flora and paloma are also really nice - go with your heart... For my dd1 I had two names in my mind and one did just click when I saw her...

SpottedDickandCustard · 09/11/2013 19:30

I was offering alternatives because the OP and her DH cannot agree on one of the 3 names.

No need to be so snippy.

Onesleeptillwembley · 09/11/2013 19:36

Willa is not nice at all. Paloma is nice, but too much with Francois (isn't that male?).

Onesleeptillwembley · 09/11/2013 19:37

Sorry - just seen its francoise.

squoosh · 09/11/2013 19:55

Really like Paloma.

Flora is okay.

Willa doesn't appeal to me at all, brings out the 7 year old child in me and makes me think 'willy'.

halecromp · 09/11/2013 21:23

Love Flora, Willa is ok, not keen on Paloma x

Sunnysummer · 09/11/2013 21:45

May just be immature, but Willa also makes me think 'willy'. Wilhelmina could still be nn Willa but also something else if kids at school are mean?

Alternatively I think that Paloma nn Lola Francoise is beautiful Smile

Can you wait until she arrives? We were really torn between names, but once DS arrived it was suddenly clear that only one name really fit. Good luck!

CordeliaRose · 09/11/2013 22:19

Willa is fabulous, OP. I have suggested it a few times on these threads!
It's a strong, feminine name IMO - Willa Anderson, born in Shetland in 1890, was one of the first women to study for a degree at the University of St Andrews, and graduated with first class honours in Classics.

lifesgreatquestions · 09/11/2013 22:24

I was thinking that few people say their middle name when introducing themselves so it might matter less of the first and second name "match"?

However flora makes me think of butter, and Paloma is s popular singer at the moment and might become a popular name. I'd go for Willa, quite unique, pretty and strong.

DitsyDonkey · 09/11/2013 22:49

I like all three, so whichever your little dd ends up with will be lucky!

Tikkamasala · 10/11/2013 02:10

Flora

hawkmcqueen · 10/11/2013 09:04

Paloma/Lola is lovely, first choice by a long way
Flora second choice
Willa I would not choose, sounds unfinished and teasing will be non stop

ChristineDaae · 10/11/2013 09:16

I like Paloma best, not keen on Lola though.

Allalonenow · 10/11/2013 09:26

Paloma is lovely, and goes well with Francoise, Lola is sweet while she is little, sassy when she is a teenager, and Paloma is a beautiful grown up name.
Flora is a pretty name, but I'm not sure about it going with Francoise very well.
I'm not keen on Willa at all, sounds too harsh and abrupt to me.
