Identical twin names

have recently discovered that I am pregnant with identical twins. We don't know the gender yet but what do you think about our name ideas? Do they go well together? If they are boys we like Jeffrey and Wesley, and if they are girls we like Serenity and Meredith. Our DS1 is called Samuel.

Definitely don't try to give them "matching" names, my mum is an identical twin and has always been eternally grateful that her parents gave her and her sister very different names and dressed them differently. They will want to be seen as individuals, not a pair, so it doesn't matter if their names don't "go together" - my mum and her sister's names certainly don't!

Jeffrey and Wesley too similar with the -e--ey sounds.
Serenity and Meredith is nice.

squoosh · 06/11/2013 16:12

Serenity is a bit hippy dippy trippy and Meredith is a very sensible 1950s style name. I wouldn't guess they were from the same family nevermind twins!

I like Serenity and Meredith, they share many letters yet are completely different in sound.

Dammit, that didn't work!

i LOVE meredith. i prefer Persephone to Serenity ... sort of similar sounding but a bit more versatile.

i hate wesley, sorry!

as a twin myself, thank you for not giving them matchy names

Onesleeptillwembley · 06/11/2013 18:02

Wesley and Jeffrey? No. Bit childrens tv presenter (and spannerish) names. Serenity - too much. Love Meredith. And also agree that it's even more important they are treated as individuals, not a set.

squoosh · 06/11/2013 18:03

What if Serenity turns out to be a stroppy livewire?

squoosh · 06/11/2013 18:05

Oh I've just noticed Jeffrey and Wesley............................

Are you planning on giving birth to two 57 year olds with an interest in Hornby train sets? Grin

The Alyss - ignore all the criticism of the boy's names because they just aren't used much for our generation, I consider that a good thing. Jeff and Wes sound very cute to me.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 08/11/2013 20:27

LOVE Wesley and Meredith, but dislike the other two. Jeffrey is particularly bad, sorry.

ChaffinchOfDoom · 08/11/2013 20:34

Jefferson and Walter
Jefferson and Wesley

Meredith and Serena

similar. Prefer Jefferson to Jeffrey, bit more modern less ''Rainbow''

StrawberryMojito · 08/11/2013 20:34

Please don't call them Jeffrey and Wesley. Wesley is bearable but the only Jeffrey I know is 52 and even he chooses to go by his middle name.

Your girls names are nice though.

Nataleejah · 08/11/2013 21:38

I know Karl and Kyle, Edward and Edgar, also heard of Ray and Roy

Same initial makes the mail impossible when older.
