Ok so due date is today. We know baby is a boy and we have 3 names on the short list. DD1 is Alice and our surname is one syllable starting with M (if that matters). Middle name will be Thomas. Short list is:
Tristan
Robin
Nicholas

Votes/comments welcomed please Smile

Love both Tristan and Robin. I think Robin Thomas sounds nicer together though. Alice is beautiful too.

BoysiesBack · 06/11/2013 08:07

From your list I would go with Robin.

Tristan Thomas is too many T & S sounds and Nicholas Thomas is too rhyme-y.

All lovely names though.

Grumblelion · 06/11/2013 08:08

Think Nicholas Thomas is a bit of a mouthful. Tristan is my favourite.
Good luck, hope he doesn't keep you waiting too long!

TheNunsOfGavarone · 06/11/2013 08:34

Robin Thomas goes the best but I much prefer Nicholas and Tristan.

Flossy78 · 06/11/2013 09:40

Thanks for the votes & comments guys Smile Tristan is the front runner for us but it does sound a bit odd with Thomas as a middle name. How often in real life do we say our middle names though? I hardly ever say mine. Just last minute name wobbles I think

I much prefer Nicholas.

Robin is ok.

I don't like Tristan.

Lubiloo · 06/11/2013 10:27

Robin Thomas sounds great! Robin and Alice go well together too.

Flossy78 · 06/11/2013 11:53

You lot are persuading me towards Robin now!

Hooray proper names Grin

Mattissy · 06/11/2013 11:59

Robin Thomas sounds the best of the lot but I prefer the other two names. As you say you rarely say the middle name so the focus should be the first name. Find the middle babe that goes with the best first name rather than the other way round.

Mattissy · 06/11/2013 12:00

Name, not babe, lol

CarryOnDancing · 06/11/2013 15:16

Definitely Robin for me.

I really dislike Tristan but can't really say why.

Thomas is lovely but maybe too safe?

I feel like Nicholas is a little dated?

NewtRipley · 06/11/2013 15:35

Nicholas

Possibly Robin

I really dislike Tristan, for some reason. Sorry

Flossy78 · 06/11/2013 17:29

Thanks for more comments guys. Middle name will definitely be Thomas as it's a family thing. Shame to hear some don't like Tristan as I thought it was a fairly inoffensive name. Do Robins get shortened to Rob?

I love Nicholas. It's such an adorable toddlers name. Nick as an adult sounds cool and the type of person who is friendly and outgoing.

There is a 10 year old Tristan in the family and he is super whinny and super irritating! Sorry, I find it a pouncey name and funny enough his parents are pretentious ( not saying you are).

Dislike Robin as well, the one we know is known as "Rob the knob."

noodlebum · 11/11/2013 13:03

Robin! Smile

Flossy78 · 16/11/2013 13:35

Just an update. Baby was born on Tues 12 Nov and we named him Tristan Thomas. Had to go with my heart. He looks like a Tristan & I'm very happy. Thanks for the advice guys Smile
