I'm really stuck on names! Girls names I like so far are;

Rose (favourite, but unsure if this is because it was my first thought)
Peggy
Elspeth
Edith
Esme
Annabel

And for a boy we so far have....Rubert...that's it!

I did really like Rudy but it's a no go after my sister informed me about a terrible liaison with a Rudy. She said she wouldn't be able to look at him without smirking.

I really dont lile Peggy.

halecromp · 04/11/2013 13:23

Rose and Esme are lovely

Rhubarbgarden · 04/11/2013 13:34

I adore Edith.

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 04/11/2013 13:37

Rubert? Really? Not Rupert or Robert? Sounds made up to me, sorry.

Of your girls' names I like Elspeth and Rose (though like Rosa more than Rose.)

CordeliaRose · 04/11/2013 13:41

Rose, Elspeth and Esme are all lovely.

I've not heard of Rubert!

TheNunsOfGavarone · 04/11/2013 13:43

NOT Peggy except possibly as a nickname for something else if you really must. Not that keen on Edith either but the others are lovely.

Rupert or Reuben?

Rtfairy · 04/11/2013 14:17

I like Rose, Esme and Annabel, not keen on the others sorry.

AmIGoingMad · 04/11/2013 14:20

Rose or Edith (nn Edie) for me!Smile

Sleepy678 · 04/11/2013 14:20

Rose is timeless & beautiful. Not keen on the rest sorry. Esme is so popular near where I live - I know 3 under 1 years old x

Wishfulmakeupping · 04/11/2013 14:21

Edith and Annabel are lovely used to like Esme but really gone off it now

mrssmith79 · 04/11/2013 14:27

Not keen on Elspeth but the rest are lovely, Rudy nice as well.
As for boys, not keen on Rubert either i'm afraid. Reuben, yes, or Hubert (Hugh / Bert / Bertie). Personally I love Horatio (shortened to Raich) although many may disagree.

dyslexicdespot · 04/11/2013 14:35

I like all of the girl names aside from Peggy. It brings to mind a very boring conservative American from the mid-west (I'm obviously biased)!

Weegiemum · 04/11/2013 14:36

I like Elspeth. What about Eleanor/Elinor or Elaine?

Rubert sounds made up (also for me too much like Ruprecht in the film Dirty Rotten Scoundrels). I know one Rupert who is 40 and posh enough to carry it off! Robert (nn Robbie) is a nice alternative.

Rents · 04/11/2013 14:59

Argh! Rubert was a typo, should be Rupert!

I was worried about it sounding too posh!

I'm so glad most people like Rose. Esme is my 2nd favourite, but it does look like a very popular name.

This naming marlarky is so hard. I can barely decide what I want for dinner let alone a life long name!

Thank you all for your input.

I love Rose and Annabel.

I quite like Rupert and Ru is a cute nickname. Love Rafferty (Raffy) but DH won't have it!
