and we named him Hector!

I need your help deciding on his middle name. It's between Hector Aldous (what I announced his name as when born) or Hector George.

I'm wobbling on Aldous as I was feel slightly embarrassed when people ask his middle name. It feels a bit wanky!
George is a name we agree on and it seems to suit and sit well with Hector.
Thoughts?

Congratulations!

Hector George is lovely. I would go with that.

almapudden · 24/10/2013 08:43

I love Hector Aldous.

ViviDeBOOvoir · 24/10/2013 08:45

Hector George is lovely.

I like the name Aldous but the two together sound a bit of a mouthful or like the names merge together.

Congratulations btw!

emmyloo2 · 24/10/2013 08:49

Fabulous name! I would go with Hector George. My DS is a George and I love the name Hector. I think the simplicity of George works with Hector. Aldous is a bit too much, in my humble opinion. Although, to be fair, you never use the middle name anyway, and you have chosen an excellent first name. Little Hector!

Depending on your surname, Hector George might be a safer bet initials-wise. Go with your gut feeling.

MoonHare · 24/10/2013 14:52

I'm afraid you're right Aldous does sound wanky. Go with George.

Frikadellen · 24/10/2013 16:23

OH I LOVE LOVE Hector. like both mns sorry

Mim78 · 24/10/2013 16:55

Either is lovely (unhelpful I know!)

George is probably a bit easier for a child to tell people (when they have the "what's your middle name" discussion).

MarianneBrandon · 24/10/2013 21:54

Hector George

I would go with Hector Aldous

RedLentil · 24/10/2013 23:40

Hector Aldous is fab. Here in Ireland , we have a Hector doing the main morning radio programme kids listen to on the way to school, so it isn't as unusual. It's a great name. Congrats on your lovely boy!

elcranko · 24/10/2013 23:57

I like Hector George.

Congratulations!

BigPawsBrown · 25/10/2013 00:07

I like Hector George. Hector Aldous sounds like Hect Raldous

ReturnPlacenta · 25/10/2013 15:18

Congratulations! Flowers

Hector is fab. Aldous is fab, but together they do register on my wankometer.

I also think Hector George runs together better than two vowel sounds colliding.

If you're embarrassed saying it to people then IMO it's the wrong name.

NewbieMcNewbie · 25/10/2013 15:43

George. Born in the same year as the future king is a nice connection too.

CordeliaRose · 25/10/2013 16:21

Congratulations Thanks

Another vote for Hector George here!

pygmy · 26/10/2013 17:59

Hector Hugo and Hector Otto are now in the running. Also like Hector Edward and Hector Edgar, but the flow's not quite right.

I think Hector George. Aldous is maybe a bit much with Hector.
