It's our current front runner whispers still quite fancy Monty or Johnny, DH isn't keen not sure about middle names.

Nothing overly Scottish please so Hamish Fergus or Hamish Bruce are no no's.

I was thinking Hamish Alexander, but not sure.

Any suggestions?

Hamish Alexander is great!

I find it quite difficult not to suggest a Scottish middle name for Hamish tbh - but how about
Corin
Daniel
Ellis
Francis
Franklin
Jonathan
Montgomery
Nicholas
Oliver
Sebastian
William

  • Hamish Alexander is probably the best option Grin

Glad it's not just me Wink

Possibly might just use my maiden name as Hamish middle name very common place in Scotland don't want to write it for obvious reasons. We didn't use it for DD and I sometimes do wish we had.

So either Hamish Alexander Maiden Surname, Hamish Maiden Surname or as above. Either way DH I know will only want 1 mn.

Thanks

Why not sneak your other favourites in and have

Hamish Montgomery
or
Hamish Jonathan

I think Hamish Alexander still sounds really Scottish though probably not as Scottish as Hamish Alastair which I like too.

For some reason Hamish Barnaby came into my head.

sonlypuppyfat · 21/10/2013 23:22

Ian is scottish I think and my friends DS has Gregor for a middle name.

swampster · 21/10/2013 23:23

Surely it's got to be 'The Horrible'?

WitchOfEndor · 21/10/2013 23:41

Hamish Alexander was the first to pop into mind, it sounds lovely.

BeaWheesht · 21/10/2013 23:43

Hamish Alexander was my first thought, lovely.

smithwillsam · 22/10/2013 06:32

My first thought was Hamish Alexander too. I think they sound great together. It sound lovely as a Scottish name.

Any Suggestion:
Angus
Andrew
Gregor
Joel
Flynn

williaminajetfighter · 22/10/2013 06:57

Hamish James. Simples....

BeaWheesht · 22/10/2013 08:28

Isn't hamish a form of James though?

daughterofafarmer · 22/10/2013 10:29

Yes, I don't think we can have Hamish James..!

Alexander is Scottish, but it's not an in your face Scottish name like McTavish Grin

I don't want Jonathan or Montgomery as mn. But Hamish Montgomery would be rather fab.

Some good suggestions, thanks. Think Hamish Alexander pips it at the moment.

Surname is a 'M'
