Just that really. Expecting DS1 and thinking of Casper, but want to explore other / more Scandinavian options.

What do you think of Sven? Is Thor too odd?

Or how about Gustav?

Has nobody said Stig?

bionic77 · 21/10/2013 15:04

Love Stellan or Carsten.

Helspopje · 21/10/2013 15:12

Isnt carsten German? Means Christian anyway so ?Kristian

I'd go Kaspar/Caspar, Kristian, Arlo, Jens, Ole/Olle, Konstantin, Jesper, Rune, Thorsten and would've loved Loki as a middle but all the boys in our family get Somer/Zomer for some reason. Confused

FWIW, the last Scandi named boy I met was called Atli

Loki is not really the kind of half god you would want to name a child after!

bruffin · 21/10/2013 15:43

I have worked with a Jussi, Tovoi (Topi), Timo who were all Finns.

Wildwaterfalls · 21/10/2013 16:15

Ooh Stig: very cool.

For some reason Jussi makes me think of a dog but I think that's watching too much Wallander on tv...

I have a lot of names, from my family=Johan, Jørgen, Ole, Jan Erik, Jan Arne, Vidar, Esben, Joachim, Andreas, Magnus, Tormod, Jarle, Ulf, Tore, Kjell and Kjetil pronounced Chell and Chesil, i would give you the names of my workmates but have to go. Will come back with more.

BlessedAssurance · 21/10/2013 17:19

Kjetil is pronounced Chetil

FruitbatAuntie · 21/10/2013 17:23

My DS has both Soren and Lief as middle names and he is only one, def not just for over 60s!

13loki · 21/10/2013 17:56

And yet Loki is not uncommon. Although admittedly more commonly spelt Loke. Anyway, I forgot Hannes, Hans, Håkan, Björn, Åke (although that I only know from compound names.

Fredrik is my favourite.
My DH is obsessed with the name Ragnar. Don't know why.

telsa · 22/10/2013 10:56

Kaspar, Mikkel, Jakob

Wildwaterfalls · 22/10/2013 11:18

I like Fredrik, Thijs, Henrik, Per, Johan but they are all rules out as they're close family members! Bit annoying to have a family with such nice names Smile

I like Magnus, it was on my list of boys names. Also like Brimar and Ebbi but OH vetoed them.

Also like Otto, but the dog is called that ;)

My friend spells Nils as Niels for her son - maybe its the Danish vs Swedish way? I absolutely love it now although its a pain I think for her with the whole 'not neil, nielS' all the time..

I love Gustav, it's one of my favourite names.

How about Olli or Olaf? Ranulf?
