How would you spell Casper?

Kasper?

I want to choose the one that will minimise misspelling.. I know you'll say one of the ones with a C though which is a shame as I quite like it with a K

I teach a lot of Polish Kacpers.

Casper is too friendly ghost.
Not keen on the K spellings personally but if you went for that then the -ar ending is better.

My DS is 10 months and a Caspar :)

I checked the name statistics and I think Casper is about 200 places higher than Caspar. I would want to choose the correct spelling of Caspar but thought it would constantly be misspelled.

I'm in Scandinavia and Casper and Caspar are pronounced differently - are they pronounced the same in the UK?
I would go for Casper personally but even if you pick a name that you think is well known world wide with a very standard spelling people will get it wrong (personal experience!) so pick the one you like the most as you will e correcting people anyway!
