What do you think of the name Holly?

Do you find it cutesyand too Christmassy or is it classic and year round? I kind of see it as a glamorous, Audrey Hepburn in breakfast at tiffanys, but not sure if others will appreciate the same vibe? Thanks

Breaking Bad. Sorry x

bridgetsmum · 18/10/2013 00:12

I like it, it's very pretty Smile

Tikkamasala · 18/10/2013 00:13

I haven't watched breaking bad, will people really think of that? Is it a bad character?

no she's just the gorgeous beautiful baby. nothing bad atall and no-one will remember in 3 months. It is a classic and lovely name :)

BabylonReturns · 18/10/2013 00:27

I have a Holly Robyn... She's beautiful, even if I am biased......

She was born 31st August, so year round name for us!! I'm an Xmas day baby and have the latest festive name ever!!!

TallulahBetty · 18/10/2013 07:38

I have a Holly. Born in November so not technically a Christmas baby - we loved the name anyway.

GrandstandingBlueTit · 18/10/2013 07:43

Really like the name Holly. And don't think it is a Christmas name.

BetterWithCheese · 18/10/2013 07:45

I love Holly but am due at Christmas so probably won't use it- I feel like it's only cutesy if used for a Christmas baby. I might be overthinking this though Smile

muststopeatingchocolate · 18/10/2013 07:45

I have a Holly Meredith born in Feb. We didn't think it was a Christmas name, just classic and no spelling issues.

SeraphinaSparklePants · 18/10/2013 07:49

I think it's lovely.
Definitely not just a Christmas name.

TallulahBetty · 18/10/2013 07:54

Unfortunately there sometimes are spelling issues - we've often been asked if it's Holly or Hollie Confused

elcranko · 18/10/2013 09:17

I love Holly and don't think it's just a Christmas name.

BartBaby · 19/10/2013 08:18

I love it. And it's at the top of my girls name short list for dc2 due in April. Definately not just a Christmas name. In fact I think it's better as a non Christmas name as otherwise it's very cliché

Coupon · 19/10/2013 20:20

It's a lovely name and I like the spelling Holly.

Fine as a Christmas name or at any other time. No need to try to avoid it at Christmas, it's more naff to purposely rule it out IMHO

HollyBen · 19/10/2013 20:29

I really like it and agree it is an all year name. Now that DD has used a few of my other names for her dolls I will be short listing it for DC 2 (if there is to be a DD2)

meditrina · 19/10/2013 20:33

I would expect a Holly to be a Christmas baby.

LoganMummy · 19/10/2013 20:40

Agree that Holly is a beautiful name.

Alisvolatpropiis · 20/10/2013 19:55

I think it is a quite Christmassy. But sweet nonetheless. I know a Holly so called because her parents conceived her around Christmas time.

Also, Holly Golightly was a prostitute.

trulymadlyme · 20/10/2013 19:58

I have a Holly - beautiful name for a beautiful young lady

Rhubarbgarden · 20/10/2013 20:26

I like it.

Googlella · 21/10/2013 15:53

I really love this name, but for me personally it's for baby girls born at Christmas.

Orangeboat · 25/10/2013 20:28

Holly always my favourite name love it. My eldest daughter was born Christmas Eve and yes we called her holly . If she had been born any other day off the year she still would have been holly .

TombOfMummyBeerest · 25/10/2013 20:38

Love it. Though I love the Christmas association to it too.

And you're right about the Audrey Hepburn connection!
