I can't use these names......

.....because they don't go with our surname (Starts with N, ends with as). Any suggestions based on my list? (Think we're ok for a girls' name, it's the boys we are struggling with- and Dday is rapidly approaching). Our child will have a lovely mixture of Indian, British, Caribbean, Spanish so a lot of scope.

Eden
Zain (not sure about spelling)
Elias
Cassius
Other names I like which we could possibly use:
Gabriel (I love this name but just can't give my son a name with the potential nickname Gay)
We like Zachary/ Zachariah but I am just very aware that nearly every little boy I meet at the moment is called a variation of Zach.

Please help!

Suggestions:

Barnaby
David
Dominic
Emanuel
Isaiah
Levi
Mateo
Ravi
Zohar

Some lovely names which include 5 family members!
I like Elliot but after Scrubs, my husband thinks it's too feminine.
Is Eli a shortened name, maybe Elijah?
Leo, I love the name, fuming though that I teach the only Leo I've ever met and he is quite a character. Maybe a middle name though. I Really like nmames ending in o, Mateo is great.
Levi has been mentioned too. Is that a name in its own right or short for Leviticus?
-I would prefer a full name rather than a shortened version.
I have also been thinking about Rafael but was a big Turtles fan as a kid and not sure if it's a bit out there.
Thanks for the ideas. Now I have a few in the bank I'm hoping it will be possible to meet the baby and then choose a name that suits.

I like Rafael. And I think your concerns about Gabriel are unfounded - the nickname is always, always Gabe. I would go for that if you love it!

Leon instead of Leo?
Zadok

Matteo is good (if spelt properly!)

Rafael also nice.

sleepingbeautiful · 18/10/2013 04:10

PP Mateo is Spanish spelling; Matteo is Italian.

OP what about: Orlando, Leandro, Stefano, Ricardo. (though not as good a Mateo imo :) )
Levi originates from Leviticus but is considered a name in it's own right.

Is Cassian or Castiel any good with your surname?

Or just Eli. Elijah? For a full name.
