To actually do this?

I asked my ds(3) what we should name the baby when it comes along.

He said, Charlie for a boy and Lola for a girl.

Not the most original idea considering we had been watching it on tv ten minutes prior to the conversation.

But you know what, me and dp actually rather like both names! Should we? Could we? Ds would be very pleased Grin

Don't see why not Grin but how long do you have to go? Is there a chance DS will change his mind?

Bowlersarm · 05/10/2013 21:06

Why not.

Ds1 was very very indignant that we didn't chose his number one name for ds3 - Stick.

Now we laugh about it, took a while though.

Alisvolatpropiis · 05/10/2013 21:52

They're both nice names.

You could always go with Charles nn Charlie or Lois/Laura nn Lola. I know women with both of those names who have been called Lola/Lo by friends and family.

LyraSilvertongue · 05/10/2013 21:57

There's nothing wrong with either name. Now if you had twins and called them Charlie and Lola that would be different Wink

LyraSilvertongue · 05/10/2013 21:57

My friend has two girls named Lola and Lois and I think they're far too similar for siblings.

floatyflo · 05/10/2013 22:39

Bowlersarm I rather like Stick Grin

Hi Lyra fellow Martian!

I agree about Lola and Lois. Bit of a tongue twister saying those together.

I like both names. My sons suggestions for our dc2 are Ben (his name), Barrie (an older relatives name) and Sully. I think Charlie and Lola are much better suggestions Grin

SavoyCabbage · 05/10/2013 22:41

I know someone who did this but their ds wanted to call the baby Batman so they called him Robin.

ItLooksLikeRainDear · 05/10/2013 22:49

Just be thankful he wasn't watching sponge bob square pants Wink

My DD1 was desperate for a sister called Annie. The name we gave DD2 can feasibly be shortened to Annie, although it isn't the 'normal' contraction, DD1 was on cloud 9 for weeks at getting her choice!

confuddledDOTcom · 06/10/2013 00:56

No one's going to know what your other name is and they'll just see it as a nice name.

Tikkamasala · 06/10/2013 13:34

It's fine, not as if you're having twins and using both the names!

perplexedpirate · 06/10/2013 13:38

That's funny, DS had a doll he called Baby Stick.
