Please can you tell me what you think of the following names? We have a common surname. We're looking for one middle name with each so thoughts on middle names for each would be great too! Thank you.

Annabel (Anna)
Georgia
Georgina
Gabriella
Lara
Sasha

Leo
Samuel (Sam)
Edward (Eddie / Ed)

I like all of them! (Not helpful I know)

BopsX3 · 28/09/2013 16:30

I like Annabel and Edward Smile

EnglishRose1320 · 28/09/2013 16:32

I'd second Annabel and Edward, Annabel Rose and Edward Charles could work depends on your surname

elcranko · 28/09/2013 16:52

I like Georgia and Leo best.

Sadie204 · 28/09/2013 18:19

Love Annabel and Georgia from your girls list and Samuel from your boys list, never really been keen on Edward for some reason!

We found with middle names to look for any family names you/OH would like to pass on. Samuel Thomas sounds nice though

EverythingIsSoThrowback · 28/09/2013 18:21

I like Lara, Annabel, Sasha (in that order), and I like Samuel (Sam), and Edward (equally).

allyfe · 28/09/2013 19:28

Annabel (Anna) - I love Annabel shortened to Anna.
Georgia - don't like
Georgina - don't like
Gabriella - Knew one that was shortened to gabby, not so sure.
Lara - Like this.
Sasha - Like this, and not so common

Leo - not so keen
Samuel (Sam) - I like this. Classic name.
Edward (Eddie / Ed) - not so keen.

allyfe · 28/09/2013 19:29

Didn't help with the middle names - I like family names as middle names. I think it is a nice gift to a family or friend, and creates a history and continuity I like.

DontmindifIdo · 28/09/2013 19:41

Right, well if you don't madly love any of those names, I would remove Georgina and Georgia from the list as apparently there's going to be a lot of George's and the female variants after prince George. There's a good chance she wouldn't be the only one in her class (or there be several boys called George as well).

On a similar theme, Edward seems to be very popular at the moment, particularly with the nickname teddy or ted. I know 2 who were born earlier this year, and 3 from the year before.

But I'm not very helpful as I like all of your list!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 28/09/2013 19:43

Really like Edward. Not fond of any of the girls' names, sorry. Would choose Annabel from that list, but if you plan to shorten it to Anna tbh would probably go with Anna anyway.

tumbletumble · 28/09/2013 19:43

I like Annabel, Georgia, Lara and Edward. Good point about Prince George though.

Nest0fVapors · 28/09/2013 19:44

Lara and Leo!

picnicbasketcase · 28/09/2013 20:06

I like Anna (but not Annabel), Gabriella and Samuel.

CruCru · 28/09/2013 20:54

I don't like Annabel or Georgia much. I tend to assume Sasha is short for Natasha - would that bother you?

Retroformica · 28/09/2013 21:39

Sam and Georgia are fabulous.

pygmy · 28/09/2013 22:15

Lara and Edward.

Littlecherublegs · 28/09/2013 22:30

Favourites are Georgia and Leo.

I would go for Georgia Kate and Leo Alexander.

ricecakeaddict · 28/09/2013 23:59

Thank you for all feedback - v helpful! I agree that, while I love Gabriella, I'm not convinced by Gabby and I think that's the most obvious nickname. I was also slightly concerned about the Prince George point with Georgia and Georgina so interesting this was raised...probably not enough to put us off but makes me slightly less keen!
We love Sasha (as full name - we wouldn't go with Natasha or Alexandra) but just not sure it's the same style as the other names we like (not that I'm sure why this matters..!)
