Middle name for Johnny or John

So you have already kindly helped with the spelling of Johnny. Now we are looking for a mn. Please could you be so kind to suggest possible mn for Johnny and John just in case we change or mind

Normally I am a real stickler for full birth certificate names however I'm just not sure if I can bring myself to call our son John. Both DH and I like Johnny but aren't quite so keen on John. Jonathan isn't an opinion.

Should add we have nothing against the name John. Just it's a family name and has been heavily used over the years. Just think you would be good to give future DS a separate identity.

A friend has a jonny but he's a jonathan. His middle name is grey.

I think you should go with John on the BC but call him Johnny from day one. That way he'll be known as Johnny to everyone but his real name will actually be John. Gives him more options when he's older. Just my opinion though!

I have a John Joseph who is known as Jack! John is a family name on both sides but we use Jack like DH grandfather did. He used to get JJ too, and JackJack thanks to The Incredibles which was released at around the same time.

I know a John Brian and a John Alan??!

Don't know any Johnny's - it's either John or Jonathan.

My DS is a Johnny! He's John James on his birth certificate but only ever referred to as John on forms. We sometimes call him Johnny Jim if we're teasing/being affectionate.

It's a great name, unusual nowadays without being 'out there'.
