Nate for a boys name

Me and my other half were really struggling to find a boys name we both really liked, we then stumbled on Nathaniel, Nate for short. The only problem is that my name is Kate! I think that having rhyming names is a bit too cutie-cute. I can just imagine people saying "Here comes Kate and Nate!" I would really appreciate some opinions as my other half doesn't think it's a problem! Thanks x

I have a Nathaniel who is 3, I expect him to go by Nate when he's older but at the moment he (and therefore all of his friends at nursery) call him 'Thaniel'!

For some reason his nursery carers call him 'Nathan' - as in the first 2 syllables of his name, not as in the actual name Nathan.

Just this week I met a 2 yr old and a 1 yr old Nathaniel who will both be going to the same small school as him, so I don't know if it's on the up.

As for the Kate/Nate thing, will you use Nathaniel when he's little probably?

I love Nate, Nathan & Nathaniel - go for it!

I doubt much you'll ever hear 'Kate & Nate' - you'll just be Nate's mum!!!
