Barnaby George or William Henry?

First is my choice, second is dh's. I love the first as it's a bit more interesting whilst still being an old traditional name. Dh worried it will make people judge him from his name before they meet him though. It's very hard! Want him to have a sensible name but not fel like his name is the same as hundreds of others!

I'm with your DH!

William Henry.

Iwaswatchingthat · 11/09/2013 12:48

Me too. William Henry

Ifancyashandy · 11/09/2013 12:49

First is gorgeous! Great name.

Saffyz · 11/09/2013 13:03

I prefer the name William Henry but wouldn't put the two together as they're the royal Wills and Harry.

hellokitty123 · 11/09/2013 13:43

Barnaby George - definately! Such a cool, classic and yet not overused name! Love it!

William is so widely used/dull in comparison as well as having the inevitable Willy teasing potential. I'm not keen, sorry.

CheshireDing · 12/09/2013 21:22

I love Barnaby, DH won't let me put it on our list due to a purple dinosaur apparently ! I think it's fab though and way more interesting than your DH's suggestion :)

Onyabike · 12/09/2013 21:31

William Henry would be my pick. Not keen on Barnaby but do like George.

PineappleLump · 12/09/2013 22:32

LOVE LOVE LOVE Barnaby George. The names for DS2 were Barnaby or Monty (Montgomery) but he turned out to be a Monty so Barnaby is unused. Am almost tempted to have another just to use it!

PeacockPlumage · 12/09/2013 22:37

Much prefer William Henry. Barnaby is picking up in popularity round here in a dating way. William is timeless.

CarriMarie · 13/09/2013 00:02

I like the sound of William Barnaby.

elcranko · 13/09/2013 00:09

How about George Barnaby? I'm not keen on the other way around, sorry.

Hooya · 13/09/2013 06:40

Love love love Barnaby, it was my top choice after our DS name and even my DP who started out hating it now thinks Barnaby is a cool name! Love Barnaby George!

SanityClause · 13/09/2013 06:44

William Henry is boring, boring, boriiiiing......

pygmy · 13/09/2013 08:28

Barnaby George

ZolaBuddleia · 13/09/2013 12:21

Barnaby George here too. And yes, I wouldn't go for William and Henry together because of the royals.

rachel234 · 13/09/2013 13:44

Barnaby George for sure! Barnaby is cool and much more interesting than William Henry.... yawn.... also, I'm not keen on Will/y!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/09/2013 17:37

Barnaby - gorgeous name.
Tbh though, I like Barnaby William best!

yummymumtobe · 13/09/2013 18:58

Thanks for replies - we still can't agree! Have been practising the names on him and neither sounds more right than the other! Possibly tending towards William as is more timeless as someone said. His sister also has a very classic name as do dh and me so maybe we should all be traditional!

William Henry.

Barnaby seems like it would be a difficult name to carry through ones entire life. Not sure why, I don't dislike it at all.

yummymumtobe · 13/09/2013 19:09

Or is Henry nicer than William as a first name?
