Put names in a hat!

Catwoman12 · 09/09/2013 22:14

So put names in a hat, picked out x2 and going to see what DS will look like and give him one of the two....

Brendan or Louis (pronounced Lewis)

Keeping names secret from people in RL so thought I'd tell you all Smile

Anyone else have their names pre-picked?

Interesting way to choose the names. How many options were in the hat. I prefer Louis.

Catwoman12 · 09/09/2013 22:18

Very unconventional of us, i know Grin

There were 5 names, we really could not decide, and liked all 5 names pretty much the same Smile

Of the two I prefer Louis.

I remember a colleague telling the story in the staff room of how his name was chosen - his parents put the names on the floor and let the dog choose......

Catwoman12 · 09/09/2013 22:53

GrinGrin No way? That truly is bonkers GrinGrin

Now I want to know what the other three are!

Ruprekt · 09/09/2013 23:11

Lewis is faaaaaaaaaar nicer than Brendan imvho.

But pronounced Loo~eey.

What were the other names?

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 10/09/2013 12:21

That sounds painless. Smile Do you secretly have a preference? Are you due soon?

Catwoman12 · 10/09/2013 12:32

Haha no secret preference, just made it easier for us to choose, without feeling like one of us got the one we wanted, made it fair and pretty fun, we were both excited with the results.

Our choices put in to the hat were;
Harry
Elliot
Jack
Brendan
Louis

All names we love, although the first two didn't go with surname as well as the others. SmileWink

Well let us know what you pick Grin

CordeliaRose · 10/09/2013 13:00

Grin Catwoman - he's retired now, so the naming method took place years ago!

FingersCrossedLegsNot · 10/09/2013 13:13

Harry and Elliot are much much nicer, Brendan is dire and Louis is nicer pronounced Loo ee

Sammie101 · 10/09/2013 13:38

I really like Louis, although I prefer it spelt Lewis purely because when I see Louis my brain automatically pronounces it Lew-ey!

And I love Jack, if our daughter had been a boy she would have been Jack.

Funnily enough I've had my baby names picked out since I was little and it never changed! Good job OH liked them!

Solo · 10/09/2013 13:50

I knew Ds's name at 4 1/2 months pg aqnd decided on his middle name in hospital when he was two days old.
Dd was nameless for 20 days and in the end, put all the possibilities onto individual pieces of paper and got rid of the unsuitable ones until we had about 5/6 then put them in combinations until we had the three we I chose. She looks exactly like her name too!

Catwoman12 · 10/09/2013 17:50

My other DC's name was picked when I was about 21weeks so I've left it late this time Grin

Opinions weren't asked for but each to their own! I'm very pleased with our end result Smile

Exciting times, just a waiting game nowGrin

I love Brendan and Louis. Seems like a good option- we have about ten ideas which are all suitable for us and which we all honestly love. Might suggest doing it! Or letting the hamster choose..Grin

Ruprekt · 10/09/2013 18:29

Harry is lovely.

As is Elliott.

((Whispers....Brandon is a naughty boy name))

SmileSmileSmile

Catwoman12 · 10/09/2013 19:50

Rupreket- please don't go all Katie Hopkins on us Confused Brendan is a lovely name in my opinion, Smileobviously!Grin Lol

Grin letting the cat choose? If that's what works for you GrinGrin

I found the hat thing quite fun and exciting SmileGrin

I much prefer Louis out of those two, and IMVHO Harry, Elliot and Jack are all nicer than Brendan but each to their own, it's a good fair way to choose!
