What do you think for a boy? Any middle name suggestions?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I quite like it, although it's not my usual style. Is it about to become popular for girls though (am thinking Glee/ Scandal).

thedreamersmother · 06/09/2013 16:36

Sorry, there should have been a ? at the end there.

cantthinkofagoodone · 06/09/2013 18:16

It sounds more masculine to me but I've never seen those programmes

I always think of it as a girl's name because of the sister in Daria.

Ihatepeas · 06/09/2013 18:40

I always thought it was a girls name but that's probably because I know a little girl called Quinn.
I like it but can't imagine it on a boy..

Onesleeptillwembley · 06/09/2013 19:34

It's a surname.

SoulTrain · 06/09/2013 19:37

Love it!! For either but especially a girl!

Leeds2 · 06/09/2013 19:39

I don't dislike it, but it would bother me that it wouldn't be obvious, on reading the name, whether it was a boy or a girl. I have such a name, and it is quite irritating!

gettingtogrips · 06/09/2013 19:40

A bit too much like Quim. No?

LEMisdisappointed · 06/09/2013 19:47

my friend has a DS called quin, I nearly died the other day when another friend called him "quim" She often mispronounces things and when i pulled her on it she didnt know what a quim is - the word quim makes me shudder but the name quin has grown on me. I did associate it with quinten crisp, but now i associate it with tarentino which may or may not be a good thing!

MrsMongoose · 06/09/2013 19:52

I know both genders, and like it on both!

Bowlersarm · 06/09/2013 19:57

Traditionally short for quentin?

Unsure tbh. Sounds feminine to me.

PenguinBear · 06/09/2013 19:58

Only heard it on a girl!

TwllBach · 06/09/2013 20:05

It's been a girls name to me for a while now because of the sister in One Tree Hill but I think it's nice for a boy too Grin

2kidsintow · 06/09/2013 20:32

I'd toyed with it when expecting DC2.

DD1 had asked if her sister could be called a particular name she liked. We both liked it and agreed it would be a good choice.

I asked what she'd want a brother to be called. She thought and replied "Quincy" (had been watching it with her Dad on lunchtime telly for a while).

I wouldn't want Quincy as a name, but was quite drawn to the thought that Quin is to do with 5 (triplets, quadruplets, quintuplets) and it was my 5th pregnancy - even though I'd only successfully had DD1 at that point.

In the end, I had another DD and DD1 got her way. :)

bananamummy · 06/09/2013 23:12

Like Quinn but like Quentin even more.

bananamummy · 06/09/2013 23:17

For middle names how about
Quentin Alexander
Quentin James
Quinn Frederick
Quinn Theodore

Ham69 · 06/09/2013 23:30

Quim. Just. No.

valiumredhead · 06/09/2013 23:35

Too much like quim, no way.

KittenCaboodle · 06/09/2013 23:42

No idea what quim was until I googled.

It makes me think this Hmm

Tigerbomb · 07/09/2013 00:17

Quinn is the name of Sookie's Were Tiger boyfriend in the books that Make up the True Blood series

If you like it go for it

Rhubarbgarden · 07/09/2013 08:25

Not nice

sashh · 09/09/2013 16:26

A bit too much like Quim. No?

That's what I think every time I hear this name
