Just found out we are having a BOY {eekkk} really thought it would be another girl.

DH and I can't agree at all on boys names. DH likes James, I like Toby. We need a compromise, can you help?

James was our favourite boys' name and my husband's grandfather's name, so that's what we chose. When our longed-for only one was born we started calling him Jamie right away - it seemed to suit him as a baby and a wee boy. I remember at the time we thought he might prefer his 'proper' name of James when he got older. But he's still Jamie at 21 & 6 ft 3! Also our Scottish surname is one syllable and Jamie goes well with it! His middle name is Ian, after my Dad.

Hi daughter hope you and baby are doing well (I read the jan 2014 thread). We're having a boy too and can't agree on a name, (must be Celtic-ish as we have a Ewan already and preferably not shortenable). DP wants another -an ending name as we all have one.
I like -
Felix
Fraser
Quinn
Arthur
Archie (unfortunately taken by my dog!)
Callum
Alex
Oliver
DP likes
Rory
Nathan
George
James
Oliver
Do any of these work? Smile

Thank you for all the comments, apologies I have been away for a few days R&R without DH and DD. Bliss.

enormose {waves} hello, yes much better now. Thank god.

I have come round to James, however still looking that 'perfect' name Grin DH will not move on Toby. So it looks like I'll have to give in come the end of the year.

Think James Lachlan Surname?

Your DH has more conservative taste than you. These are nice:

Matthew
Adam
Marcus
Christian

Don't give in - with to find one you both love. It can happen

sorry - the "with to" wasn't meant to be there in my last post

DH said last night he wasn't 100% set on James, just it's the only name at the moment he can suggest Hmm so at least maybe we could find something we both love.

However Honor and James does sound good!

It is v hard. I have 2 boys and DH vetoed all my suggestions first time. There was ONE name he suggested and I had not thought of before and immediately loved. That just left DS2 to name when the whole rigmarole started again. DS2 should be Matthew ...

Thanks Jo

We already have a Dominic in the family and Jasper is a no from me Smile I think it's a great name just for some reason it makes my teeth inch Blush

Jamie I think it doesn't help that we really thought it was a girl. So really stupidly didn't think we'd need a name. Good luck with Matthew!
