My partner's surname is Pengelly and we thought an alliterative name would be nice. Does MN have any suggestions? E.g Peter, Penelope etc. Both boy and girl names welcome!

If your partner is Cornish how about Piran, Perran, Petroc

Winterfel · 03/09/2013 22:38

Or you could repeat the double L, that would sound nice too.

Peronel (a rare version of Petronella), Perdita, Polly, Persphone, Patricia, Priya, Paula, Pandora?

I think Polly sounds best if you wanted alliterative as you've got the p start and the double l sound near the end

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 03/09/2013 22:57

But an alliterative name would not be nice!

Not exactly alliterative, but John-Paul

mathanxiety · 04/09/2013 06:34

Again, not alliterative, but imo Alanna Pengelly sounds nice...

I love alliterative names! Poppy Pengelly or Polly Pengelly would be very cute.
Not sure for boys but Piran could be nice.

BlueChampagne · 04/09/2013 12:13

Alliterative names are fine with some letters but I'm not sure about PP (pee pee).

Ham69 · 04/09/2013 15:15

I know a Pengelly family! Great surname and I think most names would go with it.
I love alliterative names too (love Polly Pengelly) but I also think the double L idea sounds good.
How about Nell Pengelly? Love it!
I'll have a think about boys names.

Frangepani · 04/09/2013 23:30

Pengelly is such a great surname! Girl suggestions are Pippa, Polly, Paula, Pansy, Patsy and Pamela. Can't think of many boys names - maybe Paddy or Perry?
